Who says songs that have the word "God" in them are taking His name in vain? If you are not actively dissing Him, or trying to be blasphemous, there is nothing wrong with it.

It isn't taking his name in vain to use it when you're talking about him or to him. If you're talking about worship or praise songs, there is nothing wrong with saying/singing his name. On the other hand, if you're talking about other types of music that might include the word "God" in a different context, then you can try substituting another word like "gosh" when you sing along OR, perhaps even better, don't listen to those songs!

The commandment is not to take His name in vain, in simple words don't use His name or titles unless you are talking to Him or about Him, but singing praises or worship songs are His pleasure, you are singing about Him or to Him.

Psalm 150:

1 PRAISE the LORD!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!

the name of the Lord is very holy and He is worthy of all praise. it is true that there are songs now a days that blasphemed the name of God. Indeed, it is a sin to put God's name in vain. you rather not sing songs that has lost the praise that God deserves...

Praise songs are not considered blashphemy.
Blashephemy is a violation of the second commandment. This involves using the name of God as a swear word.
If this is the case in the song, then find some fitting alternative.

I have never heard a song that takes the Lords name in vane. In my opinion there is no other song that is more Praise and Worship than "How Great Thou Are."

" Oh Lord thy God when I am awesome wonder, consider all the worlds thy hands have made.I see the stars I hear the rolling thunder,Thy power throughout the Universe displayed."
I sing this often to the Lord.

No matter how you praise God, say it loud! If they are cursing in the name of God, don't. In fact when I'm around to hear someone curse God's name, I say a silent, "Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they say!". To sing a praise for Him is a great witness to Him. Be moved with the Holy Spirit!

If you are singing in worship to the Lord, great. That's not wrong.
If you are singing songs that use his name like swearing - the non-christian kind, Well, why do you sing those songs? Choose songs of praise and you won't need to swear. :-)
There's thousands of songs to choose from, you know.

To speak in vain is to use his name without real significance, without purpose, the common curse word GD is used in a derogator sence, its wrong, but when you are singing you are praisng God, and his name, you aren't using his name in a derogatory sence. Sing praises to God and glorify him much♥
