Well Little Brother, without a lot of scripture twisting and context changing the thing just can't be done! So, your $1,000.00 (Or your Dad's ?) is safe and secure. In spite of "fatherK"'s attempt, he still is showing no Biblical passage that the Sabbath is changed to Sunday. Indeed, he is in conflict with the teaching of his own church.

Anyone wanting proofs can do a search on the Sabbath, either online or thru the YA question search.

By the way, for those interested, there is actually a bigger offer on the table! $1,000,000.00 in good old USA money if you can show a scripture changing the Sabbath to Sunday. Google it, try to claim it.

The Sabbath, made Holy at creation, is still Holy today.

Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath.

Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church.

Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship.

1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.

Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."

2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.

Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.

Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday.

Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ.

Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

Here I got a deal for you. You keep your $1000 and we will worship on any given day we choose to. If you treat everyday like it is the sabbath and give honor and glory to the Lord. Then you have no worries about what actual day the sabbath is. God Bless.

Why thank you Raji I appreciate it. Just thought it would be nice if people stopped fighting over the little things and concentrated on more important issues.

God rested on the 7th day, which was the Sabbath.
That is still the Sabbath. However, in the New Testament,
they came together to worship and break bread on the
first day of the week which would, of course, be Sunday.
So, go ahead and rest up on Saturday but get to church
on Sunday. Quit majoring in minors.

I like Christina's idea, very much. Everyday is the Sabbath In Wicca, as it should be for ALL Religions. God(ess) doesn't NEED an appointment to be worshipped, he/she can be worshipped any time one needs or feels the inclination to do so. If you do it everyday then there's NO need to worry about which day is proper.

Such a passage cannot be found. However, since I'm an atheist, I couldn't care less.

BTW, it's spelled "text", not "teks".

I have a better question, as someone else answered yours. How do you know say the book of Jude is inspired and therefore is scripture?
