To live in the time of Moses, or of Noah, or Lot, or any other major events in the bible...or to live in the time of Jesus himself...

I often think about how cool it would be to build a time machine and go back to Israel and just go up to Him and start talking in English, and then having Him speak back to me in English...I just think that would be amazing.

Have you ever thought about going back and meeting people like Jesus or Abraham or Jacob?

hi i'm 15, wondering wat religion best suits me. i have a strong yearning for islam, but i've raised non-denominational/christian. I do believe in a heaven and a hell. i do believe there is a great one up there. i just don't have as strong as a yearning for christianity.
when i go to islam websites, it makes me want to participate because i do KINDA believe.
I'm scared to convert because, wat if the christian religion is true, will god send me to hell for praying to allah, or if i stick with being a christian will allah send me to hell? i'm sooooo confused.i wanna convert sssooooo bad, but fear is blocking my way, and i know i'm of the age to be at fault of my destiny if judging day was to be today or tommorrow.
didn't tell my mom yet, how do i tell her? don't think she really goes for muslim, because she said she doesn't believe in praying to a man ( muhammed),i kno i didn't spell it right,. i really need some advice.anyone knw where to get a free quaran in the U.S. in english?

1. no evidence (well there isn't any)

2. Occam's Razor (God is much harder to explain than any
scientific theories, therefore the theories are most likely the correct explanations)

3. evolution (God didn't create each species all at once, there was one common ancestor some 4 billion years ago which evolved)

4. contradictions and fallacies in Holy Books (there's a lot!)

5. the number of diverse religions in the world (not every religion can be right according to them)

6. poor morality and violence shown in Holy Books (isn't God supposed to be perfect?)

7. The super-ego projection: A psychological explanation as to why people invent gods just as a perfect version of themselves. That's why most gods are men (patriarchal) and the same ethnicity of the believers.(Indian gods are Indian!)

8. "Putting god in the gaps": people like to explain the unexplainable with something equally unexplainable (ie. God did it!). This is how religion began in the first place

in the past few days we have seen our dear friend Gnostic , bravely facing her last precious days in this life
now we have St Teresa another dear lady living her last moments as fully as possible

I am both sad and amazed at the strength they are showing
it really puts things into perspective
what are we doing guys ?
arguing over who is right and who is wrong ... mine is better than yours
life is precious
each day is another day we have to love and care for each other
each moment is one moment nearer our own last days
spend them wisely , make a great impression on this earth
so that when your day comes , people will remember you and say ....
they were wonderful , they loved everyone , never a bad word was spoken from their lips
is this not how you wish to be remembered ?

My brothers wish is to be cremated by pyre when he passes. I have found nothing so far which is helpful on the Web. I need to know how to construct a pyre, what type of wood is used, how long it needs to burn, environmental concerns, U.S. law permiting or restricting a "home" pyre, ...anything and everything else which is pertinant.
If you have any practical knowledge of this, or have ever been involved in the construction of a funeral pyre please respond.

The bible is so very wrong about so very much that I can rest easy now.

But apparently, reassurances from actual scientists doesn't make these guys feel any better. They go on to say that their book of bronze-age jewish mythology says differently so they'll believe that before actual, credible scientists.
And they wonder why more and more people consider christians to be insane cultists?

Both of my great grandparents were born and lived in Ireland, and they sent my grandmother to England when she was young, and they basically fled Ireland because of poverty.

Question, can I claim Irish citizenship then? I also have a bachelors degree, so I could contribute to the economy. Thanks!
