This approach by Ulrich Zwingli was necessary to give some credibility to the new Protestant movement which denied the successive apostolic leadership of the Church established by Christ. These reformers knew full well that they had no true legitimacy and no authority from Christ. They also knew that without a legitimate episcopacy that they could not continue Holy Orders, the Sacraments nor do they have the authority to confect the Eucharist which authority can only be given by Christ through the Church. Therefore, they could not continue the Eucharist even if they desired without a valid priesthood.

We may look at people who eat dogs as bad or barbaric. But we eat pork & pigs are smarter than dogs. We wouldn't consider eating our pet parrot but we eat chicken.

I really want to go to heaven, but, here on earth, I actually like people, so I always voted Democrat. I mean, I kind of like John McCain, but he was a prisoner of war, and maybe they did some "manchurian candidate" thing on him.

I was in Eureka Springs last month with my mother. Downtown we could only eat in one place, and she had to get out of her wheelchair with aid and step up a step to even get in it. We could not even shop down one whole street of stores because it was completely not accessable for a wheelchair, or even someone having to use a walker. I was furious! Most of the stores that she could get in on the other street had multilevels and she could not even go beyond the first little area to shop. What can be done about this, if anything?

Well prolifers? Do want to pay for 18 years of social services for a welfare kid or just for the abortion?

Keep in mind your positions on Social Security & National Health Care before you answer, because if you think life is precious, you should be for both of those things too.

But one of my best friends says that she thinks it would be better for me not to tell who i want because they wont all react the same. Do you think i should have to hide it from everyone like my friend says, or do you think i should be able to tell who i want?

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

and we, as a nation, just passed stories of the event around orally for the next 500 years, before writing them down....how much different would the stories be in 2507 from the actual event in 2001?

Don't the Bible stories work pretty much the same way???

A lot of these cases have ended in settlements, where an archdiocese pays out money to the former victims. These settlements are often huge - hundreds of millions of dollars - and involve thousands of victims.

Each archdiocese, for financial purposes, is independent. So, for example, the San Diego archdiocese is independent financially from the Portland archdiocese. If an archdiocese goes bankrupt due to settlement claims, this doesn't bankrupt the other archdioceses, and the debts don't pass to the Vatican.

My question is, should it be this way? If an archdiocese can't cover its settlement expenses, should sex abuse victims be able to go after the Vatican itself in US courts, to get judgments enforced against Vatican assets worldwide? We do this with countries like Iran - why not the Vatican?

From the Main Yahoo website:

President hopeful McCain said "in an interview published Saturday that he would prefer a Christian president over someone of a different faith, calling it 'an important part of our qualifications to lead.' "

I peronsally am slightly offended by that.

Anyone else's thoughts/opinions/rants?

Why does god supposedly make such a fuss over atheists, and why are Christians so sure that god hates us and we are all doomed to hell. Sure, it says that in the Bible, but don't actions speak louder than words (or beliefs).

If a morally good person went through life helping others and being a good citizen, and had good intentions, but just happened to be an atheist, why would an all-loving god punish them because they didn't have the right beliefs. I think if there were a god, he/she/it would look more at the moral character of the person, rather than what they blindly believe in, right?

the web site is called
gay community for Australian youth
http://www.ozlounge.com.au/searchmatch.php
it may be a good web site but
i found the site though a myspace add / link on my home page
so clicking on it i look at the sign on /in thing and
it covers from age 12 to 22

i got off the site then as i am 26
but then thought is 12 is a dangerous age for a site like that to cover

i mean there is nothing stopping a forty year old pedifile getting on there and posting as a say 15 year old
asking for a meeting or what ever

so do you think there should be an age limit for things like that

i mean i am trans-bi and i think a site like that may have helped a little in the past, however i also see it as a very dangerous site as well

what do you think?
should the site be on line?
should the site have an older young age bracket say 16?

You claim they worship "idols" and "false gods" like they are too stupid to know better. You blame Satan as if these people don't know themselves. You call your truth the only truth, basically telling everyone else that if they don't think like you, well they are living a lie. You sound EXACTLY like the atheist you are always whining and crying about. Talk about hypocritical.
