You claim they worship "idols" and "false gods" like they are too stupid to know better. You blame Satan as if these people don't know themselves. You call your truth the only truth, basically telling everyone else that if they don't think like you, well they are living a lie. You sound EXACTLY like the atheist you are always whining and crying about. Talk about hypocritical.

Come on. Your blanket accusation is directed against "Christians." Do you really have any idea how insulting that is? I do not claim that people worship "idols" or "false gods," do not call them "stupid," do not blame "satan" for anything, "do not call my truth the only truth, and do tell people that they are living a lie for not thinking like me.

just because someone calls himself
Purple doesn't mean he is one.

In these days it is easy to label self and others.
but it is not what we say that matters so much.
It is the way we put our money where our mouths are and actually do the work.

Some people say they are "generous"
and yet they do not gie ot charity and will
not give up supper for a hungry beggar....

Some people say they are rich,
and yet they beg for change at the corner store.

some say and others do.

Yes, some are calling themselves
followers of christ, but only when they walk as he did...only when they do as he did,
can they be really considered his disciples.

Some are more accurately called
"Followers of Copeland"
or some other such church/doctorine.

only when they can speak clamly, an dlovingly
only when they can turn their cheek when
someone strikes them...
only when they can show you
what god looks like, what love is...
how wonderful life is under kindness

then they can be called "christians"

we aren't taught, there is too much infighting...
there is n't enough praying and studying.

Just as parents do not take a test and
earn a license before they are awarded children. so too believers say one prayer
and start to learn aobut Jesus.but there is no
test, no proving they understand it all....

you just have to use your eyes and heart...
listen to their words and see if they
are true and sincere....
then you will know they represent love.
and then and only then will you see
their teacher, their lord and the creator.

Hugs,
TJ

As a Christian, I must point out that you are mistaken on several points.

First, I don't think that people who aren't Christians are worshipping satan. A false god (ie idol) can be anything that you place as your first priority. It could be your car, your family, your job, money, going fishing or hunting, etc., etc. The Bible simply says do not put anything as more important than God (in a nutshell).

Second, I don't blame satan for anything. The Bible teaches that satan is like a de-toothed lion whose only power is to deceive and put temptations in our paths.

Third, we don't claim that we have the only truth. Jesus is the one who said "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by me." Please don't shoot the messenger. As it turns out, either Jesus was an absolute liar, a deceiver, a blasphemer, etc, or he was who he claimed to be. He claimed to have equality with God, to be, in fact, the Son of God. (That, in itself, is a complete topic, but suffice it to say that Jesus claimed that as one who was with God since the beginning, that he referred to himself as the SON of God.)

Finally, concerning the atheist, all I can say is that an atheist believes that there is no such being as a God who transcends space and time, and is therefore unable to be perceived by the 5 senses.

Either those who believe in God are right, or those who do NOT believe in God is right. They can't BOTH be right.

The Christian who is convinced that God is real, also believes that we have broken God's Laws and are therefore morally culpable before God and will therefore be judged by God for breaking His Laws. The Christian believes that God sent Jesus to pay the penalty for our crimes but it can only be personally procurred by faith in Jesus and repentance (turning away from sin). If this IS true, then it is the Christian's responsibility to warn as many as we can of the danger of the coming judgement, and the means of escape (through Jesus Christ).

The atheist, on the other hand, has no specific message to share. There is no reason for an atheist to try to "convert" people to atheism, because atheism doesn't offer any specific positive help or hope to offer.

It's not hypocritical to point out these differences. What's hypocritical is to try to discredit the "messenger" without understanding the message he or she is trying to present, or why they are presenting it.

Thank you for your patience in reading through this long "thesis" (at least that's what it's beginning to feel like).

I trust that this explanation helps you to understand things a little better from a slightly different perspective.

And you are being judgmental that ALL Christians are like that. I do not accuse anyone of worshiping anything. And if you want to go from point a.) My truth is the only truth, to point z.) You are living a lie, you are the one that took that path.

You can call me names, and accuse me of sins I have not committed, but Jesus said that it would happen. He said that Christians will suffer for believing in Him.

Honestly, you may feel like I have insulted you in some way, but I haven't. I think your conscience is working on you. I DO believe that Jesus is THE way. But I can not decide that for you. Nor can I make you believe. It's YOUR choice. It's not my duty to force religion on you. Nor is it your place to call me out on crimes I have not committed.

Also, I do not whine or complain about the atheists. I pray for them.

I am a Christian and I apologize if I have offended you or hurt your feelings. As a Christian, I believe in my God and the Truth that He has given me. I have studied other belief systems and have found them lacking foundational truth. I am doing what my God says to do by telling you and others the truth about heaven, and hell. In my belief system, the truth sets us free. Guess not in yours.

God made it very clear that we are not to worship other gods or idols. You can call that obedience.

Satan hates God and is doing all that he can do to convince you to hate Him as well.

I care about you and atheists because God created you and God doesn't make junk. I know that you and atheists are choosing another 'walk' and/or 'truth,' thus making you a mission field.

You can call me a hypocrite just don't call me late for dinner!

I think my way is right for me. As I have said before, you have a right to think and believe the way you want to. I respect your right to do so , and I would appreciate the same respect in return. I call my truth the only truth for me. So don't say "Christians " instead of "some Christians" like you know all of us personally, because you don't know me at all.
I don't think that some of you atheist know just how utterly insulting you are to us either. You have zealots on both sides of the issue, not just one side. I know that not all atheists attack Christians, just like I know that "some" Christians act like you suggest. Don't stereo type please. I know that every one is intitled to their own opinion even if I don't agree with it, I respect that. Not every one agrees me me either but I don't attack them.I am confident in the way I believe, so why should I attack some one just because they believe differently the me. Why do you feel the need to attack Christians?

Amen and pass the beer nuts.

It was nice to see some of the Christians aplogize if anyone was offended.
It was saddening to see some spout the same old rhetoric- haven't you gotten by now that YOUR truth is NOT everyone's truth?

Jesus accepted EVERYONE- and you all claim to be like him. So let's start seeing it, eh?

Someone spouted John 7:17 - why is it I see so few following this?? Or are you applying only to those who are like you?

Seashell gots it right, don't generalize, and if you do, don't whine when someone else does it then. I know many Christians who are like that, and I know many Christians who actually try and be like Christ, it's a two way street with any culture...

From the sound of this you would infer that these individuals indeed know that everything they are doing is indeed incorrect and these so called Christians are only informing them of the things they already know? Is this the @ what you would like everyone here to know?

Church folks may take umbrage to your question. But have they deleted any of your questions or answers?

One difference, though: they "know" atheists are going to scream in agony throughout eternity. Atheists cannot claim any such knowlege.

Just as the answer right before mine, church folks can say (without really meaning it) god have mercy on your sorryass soul.
