The theist's mental chain... simplified:

#1. Failure to understand the world.
#2. Assuming a conscious creator for the world.
#3. Failure to understand the creator.
#4............

Error?

Ockham's Razor would suggest skipping the unnecessary steps and just accepting a failure to understand the world in the first place..... It is, afterall, far too vast and complex for a mere simpleton to comprehend.

On the flipside... if they are clearly smart enough to know that a god made it.... then by the same means they should be equally smart enough to figure out the god's motives for making it (or if they can't do that... they could just make up a motive... like they did with the rest).

When will the hatred against them cease and the injustice that they recieve daily stop? How can the violence against them stop and how soon? How many of them have to die before we stop the killing of them? What do we have to do to stop the prejudice against them? Especially against those other barbarians, who will stop it first?

In the Bible it states that God created the Earth in 7 days.

However it is becoming more and more suggested that the 'days' being referred to, needn't be 24 hours like we expect, and could in fact be an indeterminate period of time much longer than that.

I say "it is becoming more and more suggested" because 10 years ago, I hadn't heard anyone compromise on the literal translation of the bible like that before.
Today however, I find it cropping up quite often - that genesis needn't be a literal translation and that the 'days' being referred to could be thousands of years.

In which case, does it look like there are going to be any further compromises on what to believe as time goes on?
A compromise here or there to stop it alienating a growing number of people?

Jesus said, "I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Mt. 18.3

Jesus said, "It is from within, from men's hearts, that evil intentions emerge: fornication, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, pride, folly. All these evil things come from within and make a man unclean." Mk. 7.21-23

Jesus said, "I give you a new commandment: love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples." Jn. 13.34-35

Perfection may not be required by striving towards self correction is!

So if we condemn Atheists or gays, In what ways are we exhibhiting Love? If we dont Love the way Jesus Christ wanted us to Love, can he still be considered a Saviour?

What might that "singularity" be?

I'm intrested what you have to say and what your own thoughts are.

Personally, I believe that everything was perfect and that singularity is perfection. But, somehow that perfection had to be broken if it were to explode. Result: philosophers came up with the best way they could to understand this: religion. This has lead me to think that maybe religion is just a simple form of science.

Create a new account. Pose some questions to everyone as a theist. Be serious, or be a troll, or whatever, but look at the atheist's answers. Gain a perspective on ourselves.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

“We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, re ad too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom.

“We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

“We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

“We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

“These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

“Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

“Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

“Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

“Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

“Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

“Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

“AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

“Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

My girlfriend at work gave me a sample of Givenchy "Very Irresistible". I couldn't get the packet open, so I cut and squeezed it expecting a cream... nope! It was liquid and that's how I'm gonna smell the rest of the day! It does smell very nice.

My favorites are Trevor, Paris and what I call my party perfume. It's top is a big white "O". I forgot the name!

But as rule I wear nothing. LOL

Not intending to pick on them, but they are the most prominent ones I've noticed. A question will be posted like 'For christians.......' and it seems half the answers are from athiests rediculing the questioner. Same goes for questions directed at athiests, many of the answers are christians screaming their own beliefs. I'm assuming there are examples from every view point. My question is, why do you feel the need to answer a question that isn't directed at you?

If he really ever intended man to live in paradise forever, he never would have put a forbidden tree where men without knowledge of good and evil could get their hands on it. In addition, he never would have created a place that WASN'T paradise.
