Create a new account. Pose some questions to everyone as a theist. Be serious, or be a troll, or whatever, but look at the atheist's answers. Gain a perspective on ourselves.

I ask Atheists questions as well as christians questions, how else do we expand our knowledge, if not from seeing the subject from both sides, it is how we gain perspective.

You haven't been around long, have you?

This is only my second Y!A account.... some of the atheist users here in R&S are on their 3rd...4th..... 5th..... and up...... my previous account was suspended because the uptight christians and fundies have to silence the people that don't believe what they believe. I have never been responsible for the suspension of a christian's Y!A account, but i've seen MANY good and VERY intelligent atheists drop from Y!A because they were suspended for speaking their mind. It just so happened that they were critical of the christian agenda and the fundies didn't like that.

You have NO IDEA what you are talking about because you are only concerned with your side of the issue.

How about this challenge, skippy.... Why don't you try living as an atheist for a week..... and see the kind of crap you deal with. We've had a president that says we aren't patriotic and we aren't deserving of the freedoms we have in this country because of our atheism.... we have morons like you on Y!A who complain all the time about how terrible we are to you overzealous christians... even though here in the U.s. the country is being RUINED by christians who have to have THEIR dogma put everywhere.

You have your right to believe what you want, but don't cry persecution to those who are being silenced by your religion's followers....... don't cry about the "christian perspective" and how difficult it is to be a theist on Y!A R&S... this country is theist biased and you have NO IDEA what persecution is!!! Atheists can't run for government... Even though they may be more qualified to run than any theist out there..... if you're an atheist you're subjected to ridicule and constant attempts at persuasion to have our "souls saved."

And you have the audacity to sit there at your computer..... and tell us that we should try on the theist shoes to see what they deal with?? Cry me a f*cking river, buddy!

You push and push and push us.... and we finally start pushing back and you cry persecution or you say we're "mean" or that we need to see things from your perspective. Get a life! You have your beliefs, if you're happy with them, good on ya! Leave us alone for a damn change!

I think some didn't read the whole post:

"Gain a perspective on ourselves"

The asker appears, first of all, to be an atheist. I've seen the posts, and they support that observation. Secondly, the asker is not suggesting that you do this to be malicious but to gain a perspective on how our fellow atheists respond.

Some got the point while others missed it so I thought I'd point it out.

Why just atheists? Why pose as anything? Why not just be yourself?

Asking hard questions that make people think about why they believe what they believe is good for individuals and society in general.

Do that, and gain a TRUE perspective on everyone. Including ourselves.

I already pose questions that sometimes cause people to think I'm a theist. I do see both sides, and I do realize that some of us pee in other people's cheerios unnecessarily. Although I do try to encourage thought about practices and beliefs, I am respectful enough stay out of questions believers ask of other believers that don't concern atheists.

I know I'm insufferable sometimes. Honestly, I would love to live and let live with the Christians. But too many people are already too afraid to stand up for their religious freedoms and things like creationism start to get taught in public schools, the country goes to war because "God" told the president to do it, or my rights to make decisions about my own body become infringed upon. It's because the Christians cry "Persecution!" every time they don't get their way and everyone ends up bending over backwards to accommodate them. I'm standing up for my rights and resisting their bullying.

Leave the Atheists alone! Get a hobby or something!

Mormons feel the same way that Dave Frehly feel, and in spades! Back off, or go to hell!

Thank you for your inspiration, Mr Frehly!

I have done the experiment. I have also posed as the following: a JW, a highly devout yet clueless immigrant, a crackpot conspiracy theorist... and a few others. They have all been enlightening in their own ways. Ultimately I perfer to be me.
