Why do people always ask me this? And, just for the record, I'm working on a bachelor's of science degree. So..I'm going to BE a scientist. I LIKE science...a lot.

But..seriously, there may well BE a scientific explanation for being GLBT, but why don't you hear people ask for the scientific explanation for...I dunno....being goth? being emo? being a skater? being a prep? being Paris Hilton?

Why can't people just accept that that's their disposition? That's who they ARE?

Oh and for the record...when you GET the scientific explanation, you won't believe it. Trust me..I've been in the science field too long. When scientists release information, it doesn't make the news right away unless it's BAD news, in which case the media will overdramatize and make it horrendous. It's always been that way...true science has always taken a back seat to the REAL issues...you know, like what Brad and Angelina are going to name their millionth kid or whatnot.

My husband and I do not trust each other at all anymore. We have gone to counseling many times. He has had a bitter expectancy that I would stop loving him so he stopped making love to me for 3 yrs...There are so many extenuating circumstances, I would need to write a book. I REALLY NEED prayer. I need wisdom and strength more than ever!

My Sunday School teacher made this comment yesterday as we were discussing 1 Corinthians 1 - 6. He said, It's better to not believe than to be part of a wrong belief system. In a lot of the lesson he was drawing parallels between the philosphies, and polytheistic beliefs of the Greeks at the time. He also posed the question How is this relevant today? Meaning, can we learn from what happened to the early Christians and Paul having to deal with people who were trying to contaminate Christianity with teachings of "I am a student of _____(anyone other than Jesus Christ)", to include the many splinter groups of Christianity? Is it better, do you think, to be part of a group that has SOME correct principles, and SOME wrong principles, or to not be a part of any group unless they have and teach ONLY ALL the correct principles?

Please, no touting one religion over another, or atheism over everything else. Thanks.

Isn't that wrong? Why would someone want to be a sex slave or an errand slave and be humiliated? That is not love. My opinion though. What is yours?

The tree is 100 feet tall and we dont want to get a boom lift. I thought I could make a poll out of PVC pipe, but it might be to heavy to controll. I also thought if I used a sling shot, I could sling a rock tied with rope over the top of the tree, then tie the lights on the end of the rope and pull them to the top of the tree.

We all know that he was Loyal to Dhuryodhan, due to the frienship he got from him. Even though he knew he was fighting on the wrong side, Lord Krishna himself offered him a chance to come and fight on his own brothers side, but he said he couldn't for two reasons:

1. His obligation/duty towards his friend
2. His Actions against Dhropadi

I can understand he not wanting to fight on his brothers (rightous) side for reason 2. for he must have felt how he could look at the woman in the eye, whom he instulted so much.

But isn't reason 1 just a misguided sense of obligation?

What do you all think?

I just don't get it.I can understand that someone might feel sorry for an orphan and be charitable and give it a home but apart from charity why would someone WANT to adopt a baby? I heard people say they were unable to have a baby so would adopt. Why would adopting solve the problem? You still don't have a baby you are merely looking after someone else's.Why would you want to look after someone else's baby full time? I would like a baby when I'm older but if I found I couldn't I would never adopt.I want MY baby not someone else's! Also why when I didn't want to keep my baby did people tell me to give it up fpr adoption? That never solved the problem.I didn't want a baby and if I gave it up for adoption it would still exist.Stupid people

Female domination is an evil spiritual force.

In I Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:22-25, and Ephesians 6:1-3, the divine order for families is stated. The husband is the head, then the wife is second in command, with the children in obedience to them. When the woman seeks to usurp this authority and rule the home, HAVOC results and the home is left wide open for SATANIC attack.

"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths" (Isaiah 3:12). In our land today, children are rebellious, causing strife in the homes, and women have become BOSSY and demanding. It is no wonder homes are falling apart. This type of spirit in a woman is a "Jezebel spirit." Just as JEZEBEL ruled her husband, King Ahab, in the Bible (I Kings 21:25), many women today are guilty of the same sin.

I have a few other books that are actually older than the New Testament that say otherwise, as well as a few that are newer.

I have the Japanese Kojiki and Nihongi, neither require belief in Jesus. I have the Egyptian Book of the Dead, The Kitab-i-Aqdas (The Most Holy Book), The Kitab-i-Iqan (Book of Certitude), Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), Talmud and Mishna, The Zend Avesta, and Pahlavi Texts.

All of these are the words of god, none of them require belief in Jesus to get into heaven. So, can you really prove that no one gets into heaven except through Jesus? The christian bible may make that claim, but lots of others that never heard of christianity or the christian god say otherwise. Without proof, well, how do you know the other books aren't right? Have you read them and compared your "gut feeling" about them? Do you really know that your book is right and their's aren't?

Let us assume that I have a friend who is an atheist and this friend has two young kids. This friend of mine has the parenting skills of Spears and engages in some pretty scrupulous activiites. So I tell her that she needs to change her ways and the way she is raising her kids are wrong.

She accuses me of being a fundamental christian and I shouldn't pass judgement on her.

If I use religion, the law, or psychology to tell her that she is wrong, isn't she still wrong? Plus what is more important getting her some help, or the method used to tell her that she needs some help?

This is for all those who say ('read the Bible - it's all explained there') or whatever in their answers.

I am not dissing the Bible at all - in fact I am very spiritual and respect it a great deal. However there are certain parts of it that confuse, and even terrify me - and I want to try and make sense of it all.

Let me ask you something. Whether you are married or not, have you ever looked at a woman lustfully? Even just once? Well then you have committed adultery. Do you know what the Bible says you must do?

"If your right eye causes you to sin, GOUGE IT OUT AND THROW IT AWAY. It is better for you to lose a part of your body than to have all of it thrown into hell." Matthew 5:29

Those are the words of Jesus Himself. If you commit the sin of lust with your eyes, you are to gouge out your eye.

How many people have actually done this? Or are we 'not to take this literally'? And if so, how do we know what other parts are 'not to be taken literally'?
