We all know that he was Loyal to Dhuryodhan, due to the frienship he got from him. Even though he knew he was fighting on the wrong side, Lord Krishna himself offered him a chance to come and fight on his own brothers side, but he said he couldn't for two reasons:
1. His obligation/duty towards his friend
2. His Actions against Dhropadi
I can understand he not wanting to fight on his brothers (rightous) side for reason 2. for he must have felt how he could look at the woman in the eye, whom he instulted so much.
But isn't reason 1 just a misguided sense of obligation?
What do you all think?

after all, we all agree that friends are suppose to guide to the path of what is right and not support you if you are doing something wrong as Dhoryodhan was doing
