I have a few other books that are actually older than the New Testament that say otherwise, as well as a few that are newer.

I have the Japanese Kojiki and Nihongi, neither require belief in Jesus. I have the Egyptian Book of the Dead, The Kitab-i-Aqdas (The Most Holy Book), The Kitab-i-Iqan (Book of Certitude), Epistle to the Son of the Wolf, Tanakh (Hebrew Bible), Talmud and Mishna, The Zend Avesta, and Pahlavi Texts.

All of these are the words of god, none of them require belief in Jesus to get into heaven. So, can you really prove that no one gets into heaven except through Jesus? The christian bible may make that claim, but lots of others that never heard of christianity or the christian god say otherwise. Without proof, well, how do you know the other books aren't right? Have you read them and compared your "gut feeling" about them? Do you really know that your book is right and their's aren't?

Steve C, you may want to read the book of the dead before you say it isn't from god. Please try to remember that the Romans who voted your bible into existence were NOT Jews, and therefore had no clue about what was the word of the Jewish God and what wasn't. They didn't even get the prophecies about the Messiah right, what makes you think they could decipher the word of God?

What a sad bunch of answers from the Christians. Question dodging, circular logic, begging the question, the list goes on. I hope our future generations are smarter.

Good question Lee, I am a former Atheist and your question raises certain concerns I had? You need to ask yourself several questions first. Are these books that you are comparing to the bible books of God or other? I have no interest in reading something called the book of the dead because it doesn't sound like it is a book of God. It very well might say that if you follow a statue then you will get into heaven... then again maybe that is not where the dead is going to go. If you are comparing the bible with a similar Hebrew Bible you need to understand that Christ hadn't been here yet. How can you go to heaven through someone that you don't know? Since Christ has been here it is your responcibility to learn about him. I take it that is what you are doing by making these points. Lee I will try to help you get the answers you are looking for... however you have to compare the same with the same. A Christian book and the book of the dead is not a fair comparison is it?

Jesus or no Jesus, no one gets into heaven at all because heaven is a myth, NOT an actual location. Likewise, we know incontrovertibly that Jesus is a fictional character from a myth. He has no historical basis.

Isn't it time that humanity discard its childish dogmas and superstitions? All the holy books are wholly foolish and lacking in any meaningful solutions to the crises humanity faces. The bible is no different from any of the others.

I have not that book but it would be interesting to know what it offers. I know that Christianity is the only belief system that offers Savior. Christianity is not a religion, it is a personal realtionship with Savior.. Many religions teach that heaven is more or less a salary from the work good done. Christ offers salvation as a free gift. His offer is the same for everyone. However, you have your free will, so you can choose what you believe. And then one day you will find out if you have invested your life to a real thing or something that is not real.: )

Hello The Confirmed Atheist… :)

First I would like to say..I ~Love~ your avatar.. :)

Below: is said with ~Love~

I cannot prove anything to you, because no matter what I share with you, you will not believe what I say... :(

If I told you I had 2 cats, 2 kittens and a chipmunk would you believe me..

If I said I used to use drugs, was a whore and was set free..would you believe me.. :(

Then why would you believe me when I tell you that Jesus said He was the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but by Him.. :(

"My life is proof enough for me"..that is why I do not need to prove anything to anyone else.. :)

I just want to have a Loving, Caring, Giving and Gentle Heart, so that others may see God..in my life.. :)

If you want to know the answer to your question than ask God with a sincere heart and He will be able to give you all the proof you need like He has done for others, for Thousands of years.. :)

You have to find the answers you so seek, by having to ask the Lord yourself..as we all did..it is a road that only you can go on.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With ~Love~ your "Friend"..In Christ.. :)

The Truth of Catholic doctrine is just as true now as it was 2,000 years ago, no matter how badly it may be presented in our confusing times. Hang on to the Faith and never let hierarchs or bad presentations of the Faith keep you from Truth and the Sacraments.

It is a very sensitive question. But in my opinion, i think God exists and He comes into different forms to different people.Does one think that if there was only Jesus, there would have been only one kind of human beings and not different colors or races or even beliefs that are dated thousands of years.

Your question is unanswerable right now and the only answer we will get is after death that we shall know where we are heading.

None of the books you have listed are the word of God but merely humanistic ideas, Jesus is the Word of God in person and He said`` No-one can come to the Father except through Me``
You will not get it until you realize that the Bible is not just something but someone, and that someone is the revealed truth, none of these other faiths/books are salvific and do not bring life.

Those who seek to gain Heaven through the merits of Christ will make progress, from grace to grace and from light to a greater light. The believers who lived in Old Testament times trusted in the merits of a Saviour to come whereas the believer today trusts in the merits of a Saviour who has come.

And yet the Bible speaks of those who will be found in Heaven and who knew nothing about Jesus Christ. Whatever light reached them they followed and walked accordingly. Romans 2:14,15.

In Heaven, "Someone will say to Him, 'What are these wounds in your hands? Then He will answer, 'Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.'" Zachariah 13:6.

Because God tells us the Bible is all we are to follow, so that is all we need to guide our lives.

Romans 22:18-19 -- I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.

As christians we don't have to prove anything. God will take care of that himself. Sometimes you step out in faith and accept him as Lord and savior. Can you prove that those other books are from Jesus. No you can not. God also says that he will not be mocked, that we should have no other gods before us. There may be other roads that seem fine to go down to get to Heaven but the door is narrow. Without Jesus all other paths will only leed to destruction.
