Think about it. They have as much hard proof as Christianity. Carbon dating has always been proven to never really work perfect, so that doesn't really fly. They still haven't figured out how those incredible complex bacterias popped out of the rocks. The haven't found any 'pre-bacteria organism that are simpler, so it is all based on faith. faith they came from monkeys, slime and rocks, faith that maybe one day they might find out a way it could have happened., faith that by adding a few more billion years to their time frame, it might be a bit more possible. Thus, their whole thesis is based on as much faith as Christianity. Its a religion, no? and, no, DNA did not randomly assemble itself. its like assuming some drops the plains to a Ferrari Enzo, and suddenly, after billions of years, a factory pops up and a shiny red car rolls out.

Opinions, everybody! And please make them intelligent....

You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when told that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

Are religious people aware that the cause of almost any conflict is sole "belief" and not fact? For instance, WW2 was caused by the "Nazi's" based off of THEIR belief.

Are you aware the more one argues you, the more you back into a corner "clinging" to the "belief" being argued and the more upset one gets? Whether it be "American" beliefs or "Christian" beliefs, they are all arguable.

Wars are based off of beliefs, be it political "beliefs" or religious "beliefs" or both.

Gang war fare stems from beliefs.

Genocide's stem from beliefs.

Isn't it ironic that no one fights wars out of "knowledge" and "fact?" America "believed" they are being threatened by terrorists, Al Qaeda "believed" America is imposing on them. Whose belief is actually factual? Who knows? Neither! Thats the difference between a "knowledgable" war and one based on "belief." We have inklings but they cannot be as accurate as 1+1=2, an idea that no war has been fought over.

Beliefs kill, kill or bad.

I mean, Peter failed at first (denied him) and was restored and preached to several thousand and led them to him after his failure, God uses everyday people who KNOW how others feel and their pain to talk about him. If he talked to people directly they would accuse him of not understanding how they feel down here on earth.........and he would have to send a new "Jesus" every generation. How come people who don't believe in God and claim to be into Humanism don't listen to the people who testify about God and his power and believe them? Isn't that kind of........inhuman?

However you wish to difine it - I'm ultimately talking about power and abilities that have no scientific explanation.

I know a guy who occassionally picks up a die and will then say a number between one and six, roll the die and it ALWAYS lands on that number. Not particularly impressive, but he never fails. He says he just 'sees' the number - he can't do it on command, it just pops into his head. He's done it with other people and it's always correct. He can't explain it, and doesn't say it's magic, just something he knows will happen - a small premonition.

I have heard of other instances of things like this happening, and also of things like ouija boards and tarot cards predicting events correctly.

Do you know of any websites that may be of interest to me? I'm not interested in UFOs or conspiracy theories, but esotericism.
