It's a time when Allah's mercy is more prevalent within our mind body and soul, because Ramadan does not only mean giving up food for a short while.. It's the time I get a chance to cleanse myself of any spiritual and mental non-sense, and repent so that I may have a clean slate inshallah.

A time where charity is given in abundance, the issue of love and peace are more accountable, because we have to protect our tongues from the evils of bad words and curses.

Basically, Ramadan is that one month which I can use to repent, get rid of old habits, catch up on my prayers and Quran, become a better Muslim and person and most of all, it's a time which I must cherish, since I don't know if I will live that long to fast for another year.

A bunch of fanatics starving themselves all day, gorging themselves all night, then going to work too tired to perform. At least they are not planning suicide missions or planning fatwah against non-believers...or are they?

The answer above gives a very clear explanation of Ramadan and I appreciate it. Maybe we all should set aside time to reflect and repent.

Absolutely nothing. But if you like to starve yourself during the day and eat like a pig at night, then that's your problem.

A Moslem month of fasting

It's a spiritual month of fasting and being thankful for what we have. It gives you a time to reflect and pray for those who are less fortunate, that is why we give zakaat.
