Think about it. They have as much hard proof as Christianity. Carbon dating has always been proven to never really work perfect, so that doesn't really fly. They still haven't figured out how those incredible complex bacterias popped out of the rocks. The haven't found any 'pre-bacteria organism that are simpler, so it is all based on faith. faith they came from monkeys, slime and rocks, faith that maybe one day they might find out a way it could have happened., faith that by adding a few more billion years to their time frame, it might be a bit more possible. Thus, their whole thesis is based on as much faith as Christianity. Its a religion, no? and, no, DNA did not randomly assemble itself. its like assuming some drops the plains to a Ferrari Enzo, and suddenly, after billions of years, a factory pops up and a shiny red car rolls out.
Opinions, everybody! And please make them intelligent....

I guess you could see it as a religion.
But im not sure i agree with everything you say. Personally i believe in evolution, but i dont think i have FAITH in it. i dont NEED it to be true, as some religion followers have faith in their religion and need it to be true or they've wasted their lives. if i found out tomorrow that the evolution theory was bollocks, i wouldnt really care, i'd be surprised thats all. on the other hand, if a christian found out tomorrow that God, Jesus, and the bible, so basically christianity was false, i think they would be way more than shocked.

I don't think so. Evolution is as true as the earth is a ball rotating around the sun. Why do you compare DNA with cars? That's really a wrong analogy. DNA is a self replicating molecule, which gives the organism the possibility to adapt to changing environment by making mistakes when it tries to reproduce. Cars don't do that.
Science is not like your god an instant answer to everything. Possibly within 50 years it will be discovered how life could have started. It's a matter of research, gaining knowledge, having some luck, and a lot of time.
If you want to know what science thinks about that , do some reading on abiogenesis and panspermia.

Also the theory of evolution is used in medical science and to find all kinds of resources like and oil and whatever we humans extract from the earth. It's not only carbon dating that's used to determine the dates, there are many more isotopes that can be used for that purpose, and many of those methods overlap in some respect, thus can be used to confirm each other.
Read this about oil exploration research:

Well frankly there's no such thing as "evolutionism" so the question is invalid.
ATHEISM IS NOT A RELIGION OR A FAITH!
Atheism, by definition, is the absence of theism. If you cannot say "I believe in a Deity/God/Supreme Being" then you are an atheist. If you are not a theist, then you are an atheist.
As mentioned in the Introduction page, there is a subtle but important difference between "believing there is no God", and "not believing there is a God". The first is a belief, the second is a lack of that belief. I don't know any atheists who "believe" God (take your pick, there are plenty) does not exist. All the atheists I know simply do not believe God does exist.
There is a big difference between positively believing that a thing does not exist, and simply lacking belief in it's existence. In many cases, atheists will say "That God does not exist", not because they choose to do so, but because, from the description of the God, it cannot exist due to contradictory attributes. In the same way that a square circle cannot (and therefore does not) exist, a God defined as (for example) all-knowing, yet cannot see into the future, cannot and does not exist because the definition is self-contradictory. If you describe your God with self-contradicting attributes which make it logically impossible, then I may safely say that such a thing does not exist as described. This is not faith - this is reason.
If someone asked you about unicorns, would you say "I believe there are no unicorns", or would it be more honest to say "I do not believe in unicorns"? These are two different answers. Nobody disbelieves in unicorns purely as a matter of personal faith.
Again, apply the same reasoning to the Gods of other religions. Example : if you are a Christian, do you believe the Hindu God Ganesh does not exist? Or do you not believe in Ganesh?
If you believe that unicorns do not exist, then may I say that you a member of the "No unicorns" religion? Is it a matter of faith that unicorns do not exist? Can I come along to your non-unicorn church with you tomorrow?
If you are a Christian, do you believe Ganesh does not exist? Why, then you must be a devout follower of the "No Ganesh" faith!
Do you see where this is going? [ Sarcasm may be the lowest form of wit, but it's excellent for getting a point across. 8-) ]
If me not believing in your God is a faith, then you not believing in other Gods is an equal faith. How many Christians do you know who would say they do not believe in other Gods as a matter of faith? If my atheism with respect to your deity is a religion, then your atheism with respect to other deities is also a religion.

Man I didn't know it was an "ism"!!
I guess anything anyone disagrees with is automatically an -ism, and a religion
Even if you were wrong about the chemical makeup of a rock, a rock is still something I can HOLD ... angels are not ... how do you figure I need faith then?
Nevermind the very definition of religion calls for supernatural elements
I guess you don't believe the water on earth came from comets either

Evolution is a scientific theory. It's not a religion. The difference between evolution and creation myths is that there's a good chance that evolution is true.
So basically, according to you, I'm not actually pagan because I'm a rational person who doesn't actually hold the creation mythology of my religion as historically accurate. Hm.

Firstly I think you need to get a dictionary and look up the definition of the word religion.
Secondly evolution is a proven fact not a belief.
I don't wish to be rude but you obviously know very little about the subject.Your reference to coming from monkeys proves that.

Your premises are so faulty as to preclude any possible "intelligent" answer. That would require an intelligent question with arguments backed up by facts and sources. No evidence of that in this case.

Oh dear Zach - evolution has tonnes and tonnes of hard proof
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evidence_for_evolution
they (scientists) find more of it all the time
I mean literally thousands of scientists over many decades have researched this - do you really think they would do so if there was no evidence?

Evolution is referred to as a "Theory." You are right, people take it as "truth" as it tends to answer more questions then people appearing from thin air or a guy's "rib."
Religion is NOT called a "Theory" but directly referred to as "Truth," even though there are a billion people all stating a different truth towards the exact same thing.
The bottom line is, we don't KNOW. We "think we do" but we have not found that 100% logical evidence. The best route anyone can do is constantly judge through logical reasoning.
