No. that is not true, your gift is given by God and is never taken away.

Rom 11:29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

The scripture "for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance" ( Romans 11:29 ) is clearly speaking about Israel and the privileges of Israel that are mentioned in Romans 9:4-5 and 11:26. This verse is not referring to the spiritual gifts of a Christian. To answer your question, if a person is truly a Christian they will not stray from or neglect their spiritual gift / gifts because they would be miserable denying who God made them. We will definitely have to give an account to God about our yieldness or lack thereof to the gift / gifts that "He" has given us. Your gift is your gift, and whether you blossom in it, are blessed, and whether God enlarges your territory all depends on you, not God. If you don't want to use your gift and be a part of God's will being fulfilled, then He will use someone else who has that same gift...but they are willing, while you are not.

the parable of the talents is a fable or story with a morale in the bible

but with anything it's use or lose

to those you find that use a little wisely, you usually trust with more and even take back what you gave to the other (if it's not destroyed) and let the other use it and prosper it as well

sorry I don't believe in an impersonal god or a personal jesus just believe in self and can only prove there is this life

to piss away my current existence in hopes of a better one I do not have or can prove is a waste and a travesty

focus for a moment on the fact that the word gift is used. A gift is something that is freely and unconditionally given. God will never take a way a gift He has given us. We can choose not to use it, but it's still there.

No the bible says the gifts and callings of God are "irrevokable". If you want to look it up at www.biblegateway.com I think the wording is "the gifts and callings of God are without repentance". He doesn't "repent" for giving them to you.

Of course not! I don't know who told you that, but that is definitaley not true. God loves each indavidual as who we are. And he would never do such a thing. He has a reason for what he does. So please don't think that! This is my opinion though, so don't go with what i'm saying. Make your own choice through your beliefs. I hope i helped! =)

I wouldn't think so. More likely that gift will grow stale without use. Which means, to use it effectively again, you'd have to practice to get it back to the efficiency it once was.

No, He doesn't--there is a verse that says that the calling of God is without repentance, in other words He doesn't change His mind. I don't remember @ the moment where that verse is except that it's in the New Testament.

I can look it up in my concordance & email you later, if you like.
