A spirit, person, idea, principle, energy, ruler, white boy, concept, universal, big fat slob, suicide terrorist, turtle, ghost?
I asked a question. I mispelled a single word which I was not even trying to be a perfect speller. I received many answers in minutes. All but one said something from their religious position. The one corrected my one word mispelled. That is where his brain sits hopelessly stuck in mud. No one else had any problem understanding my question and neither they. Lip service is what I got and they think I would accept the idea of god based on their very limited intelligence. Dream on.

Some of them are rather nasty and mean to simple "non-trollish" questions.

Why is this? Insecurity? Annoymity?

Often, I "hear" on this site Christians or others making the comment that, without belief in eternal life, the lives of atheists must be terribly boring and without meaning. I ask you to consider this:

With the thought of immortality, doesnt this remove all meaning from life?? Without the finality of death, what meaning is there to life?

I find far more meaning in my short existence upon this rock, than I would if I believed I were to live forever...

Please discuss. WITH RESPECT.

Should gays be allowed to be married. Be "allowed?" Should blacks be allowed to sit at the front of the bus? Both seem like inalieanable rights. I can`t believe that at this current day and age gay marriage is not legal. What`s the issue.....Really? I mean I would expect such rhetoric from religous fanactics, but in this country there is such thing as a seperation of church and state. Why is it then that legally gays are not allowed to join in the same inalienable rights as all of our straight citizens? What is the debate on captial hill? I know they are not citing bible passages.....Wtf is going on here? Really, are people that ignorant. This is not the 1940`s you think we would be passed this by now. And to anybody that presupposes that I have an agenda "Newsflash" I`m not gay. I don`t have any gay friends, tendencies, fanatasies, etc.... But I`am not ignorant. Why should gays not be afforded the same rights as me...you.....anybody?

My husbands has two first cousins, one from his mother's side that is getting married this weekend and one from his father's side that just passed away. My husband is in the wedding, and the rehearsal dinner is the same night as the funeral. Which should we go to? Also, consider the wedding cousin is never around, and my husband was a fill in of sorts for the wedding. My husband has also been in more than his share of weddings, so he doesn't neccesarily need to "rehearse". I'm leaning more toward the funeral, but I've also never been in this situation before.

I know this is a strange question, but it's a strange situation. I have very long, thick hair. I often get compliments on it. That is no problem. The problem is that some people (my co-workers and even some customers or total strangers!) seem to feel it is OK to say, "Oh, your hair is so pretty." and then grab a handful of it! Occasionally a co-worker or acquaintance will come up behind me and start braiding it without my permission.

How do I handle this? I consider it the same as if they were touching me without my permission, but apparently other people seem to think that hair doesn't count as a body part. I don't want to make a scene, but I really don't like it. Usually I just move far enough away they have to let go or risk pulling my hair. But I hate being so passive!

How can I politely but firmly tell these people to get their hands off my hair?

i became a christian when i was a teenager. and since then I've been married and had a wonderful family. My firstborn son died due to cancer 5 years ago when he was 12, and last year my wife went into labor with twins I went in with a wife pregnant with a boy and girl, i came out with my daughter (my son Noah and my wife went to join my son Adam in heaven). yet I still praise the Lord. He told me in His word that he would never give me anything I couldn't handle. so whenever something goes wrong, how come the rest of the world blames it all on God?

Is it because gays more likely to end up in prison?

Is it because they just choose to be gay, (perhaps because it's available and straight sex isn't)?

Why?

The blessings of our Father God come from obedience to his word. That was written by those led of his Holy Spirit and inspired to record his words.
The wrath was written by the same men, The Prophets of old. You can choose to believe or not the choice is yours.
Please only those who wish to answer the question with a pure heart are invited to respond. Those who want to bash please restrain and BE GONE !
I am not wanting to start fights just posting something for believers to think about.

At least I did. But they don't play them any more. Maybe I'm on the wrong channel for old Tarzan/Jane/Cheeta/Boy movies in the USA? (Johnny Weissmuller starred in them.)

And, yes, I'll assume they were in black and white since my TV was black and white.

What was that show? It was an old show. Maybe before color TV. (At least *I* had a black and white TV!)

I'm an atheist, so of course I don't think that day will ever come. But since YOU think it will come, this should be considered a valid question.

Do you think god is going to fall for your spin, or does he already know exactly what he meant and how you twist it to suit your desires?
