Is it because gays more likely to end up in prison?
Is it because they just choose to be gay, (perhaps because it's available and straight sex isn't)?

I think like you just said its because they might be in there for a while an you know guys are ninfo's so they HAVE to have sex. an I think since thats the only thing they can get to,so they take it until they leave or in some cases they leave gay an STAY gay.

I don't think gay are more likely to end up in prison. I also think straight and gay people have the same probability of being put into prison. Because sexual orientation doesn't contribute anything to their demons in their heart . But their personalities does.
Maybe... most prisons are single-gendered. Gay people are always attracted to same sex. Howver, for straight people, they can't find a person so they can express their sexual desire. And you know , sexual desire is part of human nature. Therefore, they may choose to express thier feelings towards
people of their same sex
What I say is just my prediction. It may not be the truth.

Many people in jail are victims of rape, many of the rapist themselves were once raped. Men who were victims of sex crimes tend to themselves committ sex crimes.
While some men engage in gay sex in prison because no straight sex is available, most people did not have a choice in the matter. Even prison gaurds that are male are occasionally raped in prison.
The irony is that since jail is a very unsafe place, it is essentially a rape training camp, the people learn how to isolate victims and then attack them, use a knife or blade to control the victim and prevent them from screaming, and then commit the crime.
Then they get out of jail and reoffend, as a rapist.

homosexuality is a totally different issue in jail . Much of the activity is forced , not consensual . Alot of gay people do end up in jail because they are thrown out of their homes at a young age by their christian parents , and turn to crime to survive on the streets . They are poor and desperate .

NOOOO! Duh...opps, I said it again.
It has NOTHING to do with sexual preference or with sexual identity. In prison, men's or women's prisons alike, as well as uni-sex boarding schools and any place where there are none or almost no members of the opposite sex present, the sexual roles of the people in that scenario change to suit the need.
Men, surrounded by men, will have sex with men. They will not change their self-identification, and will most often stop having same-sex relationships after they leave that environment.
Same for women.

The only kind of sex that happens in prison is gay sex, cause they seperate the men from the women.

Thats kind of a stupid question... there's only guys in one prision and girls in another... they get lonely and feel the need to have sex.
and I don't think I'd be saying they're gay you could get hurt... they're just having sex with whats available to them

It is because our current prisons are gender-segregated. Period. That's the only kind of interpersonal sex one is able to have.
No one "chooses" to be LGBT or straight. However, people do choose to keep their ignorance and hatred, or become educated.
Which did you choose?
FYI the LGBT population has a much LOWER incarceration rate than the general population.

They aren't actually gay, they're just having sex with the same sex. They have no options.
