Why do so many people judge athiests and agnostics as being ignorant for NOT believing in God or being unsure of his existence

and why do so many people judge christians as ignorant FOR believing in God

I know many athiests and agnostics who base there opinions on research, evidence and understanding and I know many christians who do the same.

So are'nt the real ignorant ones the ones who make the statements that all athiests, agnostics or christians are ignorant?

I was (sort of) raised Jewish. I was always allowed to attend churches with my friends but had very little in the way of formal religious education. I thought I would raise my children as Christians as I agreed to with my husband but he doesn't attend church and I can not seem to find a congregation where I feel comfortable or accepted. All of the good folks there seem so SURE of their beliefs that my questioning is not well recieved. I want to give my children a faith, but how do I give what I do not possess?

I really need an answer to this! If god Knows everything, and is all powerful, and is infinite, the he could have been able to create humanity any way he wanted to, knowing before hand how each and every one of our lives would have played out. In this scenario, how can hell exist? I mean, if God is infinite, He Created man knowing he would partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge and fall from eden, yet he could have prevented it, and subsequently prevented all people who are going to hell from going to hell. So is God evil, or is there a hell? I don't know if i can go on being Christian if there isn't an answer. :(

unbelievers here seem to think Christians are sheep with ignorant or uneducated opinions and ideas. yet you see certain Atheist and Agnostic individuals come here everyday to ask Christians their thoughts and ideas on pretty much EVERYTHING. why do you value the opinion of a sheep like me atheists? or do you simply find comfort in being around people who know the meaning to life when you're confused about it and ignore God's existance? HELP ME UNDERSTAND!!!!!! THX :)

Religion refers to ones primary world view and how it dictates ones thoughts and actions,a set of common beliefs and practices held by a group of people.Religion is a culture, ideas, values,or experiences,Religion doesnt refer to belief in "God" Now reason for this is so many people here are so wrapped up in what religion is the true one, when religion doesnt matter, there is so many religions,But there is only one God.It is a personal relationship that you have with God that matters.Denomination doesnt matter, there will be all denominations in heaven. Its weather you believe in God and except Him as your personal saviour that matters.satan has everyone bashing each other over religion,to confuse you.God is not the author of confussion. So quit looking for the right religion and look for God He is the only one that matters.By the way Im not looking for an argument I just see a lot of confused people on here about religion.God Bless you all!

We are at a loss for words sometimes!

Americans call cottenwool (the white soft stuff you use to clean your face etc) COTTON

Cotton, in SA,UK & Oz, is what you use to sew up garments with. In America, you call it THREAD.

In South Africa we call Comforters,- Duvets, in OZ they are DOONAS. I now realise that comforters are the same as Duvets in the USA.

Jelly in SA,UK and OZ is the stuff you make your kids, to eat with ice cream. In the USA, you call it jello.

You also use the word jello. We call it JAM, made from fruit to spread it on your toast

Biscuits to us are sweet round things, that you bake, with bits of chocolate, raisins etc.,

Biscuits that are not sweet are 'savoury biscuits'. But you have different biscuits. They are not sweet (USA)

Lollies, cookies are SWEETS, kids like to eat

goldwing wears t-shirts and nylons. We call nylons things women put on their legs, eg: pantihose except, separate. My mind boggles.

At a loss 4 words!

At a los

How many of you noticed this? Now that the theists can't convert us with myths of hell fire, they deny our existence.
I've read several Christian responces that say Atheists don't exist, they're just denying their beliefs. How funny is that?

I just cannot fully give myself over. I am trying to believe but it is very hard for me. I half believe, maybe more. I think that I just want to believe so that there is a higher purpose to everything. I want to trust like others do and that seem so sure there is a God looking over us. How can I feel his presence?

There are many types of people out there. Those who want to know nothing about their future, those that want to nail down everything there is to know about what is going to happen to them in this life.

What interests me is those that want to know their future, what are their reasons, does it bring them some comfort, control, or a better life?

I want to believe in a God, but I cannot see how a God who is supposed to be perfect and loving would let terrible things happen to little children. Think of how many of them die horrible deaths each year around the world.

If you were God, would you let this happen? Would you sit there and watch?

I am not trying to be rude in any way. I just see this as a contradiction. It bothers me because my brother was murdered and I was told indirectly by one Christian that it was his time to go. That really offended me.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you for your answers.

Why Do People Cry at Church?
So, today at Church, we had an amazing Youth service, and it really touched me, because I am a Saved Christian. But, at the end, everyone went up, to pray, and some people were crying. I am more of a quiet person at Church, and I felt bad that I wasn't crying, and I don't really understand why some people were. Do you cry at Church? And, is it bad that I didn't cry? I'm sorry to sound weird, but I'm confused. Thanks and God Bless!♥

My problem is that as we are an English speaking country and that, as this is the language we were taught in school, I find it disrepectful and at times frustrating that some, not all, but quite a majority of our new Australians as welcome as they are, do not find it necessary to learn basic English to assimilate into the Australian culture. I respect their religious and cultural beliefs but find it only fair that they learn the countries primary language to be able to live, work and operate a business here.
There are businesses being run where they can't understand you and you cannot understand them. Not to mention the fact that they offer continuous interpereter services for Welfare even after 12 months when newcomers should have learnt basic English by then. If I chose to live in a Foreign country, the first thing I would be expected to do, is learn the language why not here. My mothers parents were Dutch and learnt English. Please tell me what you think. Serious answers only.

I am a pretty blunt person... I don't mean to offend people, and I would say that people rarely offend me. But why is it that honesty is either loved or hated? But never taken at face value. I am always "refreshing" to people, or "offensive". Can you get a break?
