Yes, when they believe in what they are praying.

not always. i have seen many that pray together while the parents are*preying* on their children. and some, that when the children come of age and decide to choose another denomination, or belief system turn their back on their own children. i have seen a few examples of decent families that do so, from my observations, i believe that families stay together if the create a positive and accepting home life. a family game night and genuine interest in each other could be as effective as prayer in this regard.

Absolutely! It doesn't matter which belief or denomination. The family that shares its spiritual life with one another are connecting with the divine at the highest level. Familial is united with the love of the Deity (However you recognize him or her). Divine blessings rain down on the family which practices this, be they Christian, Jewish, Hindu, whatever...

It sure helps.
And we need all the help we can get. I prayed with my family (children) every day of their lives. every morning, every night.
They seem to be glad I did that. Christians live longer, have better marraiges, etc, the comment below is not true.

no. I was raised in a non- christian home, and then became a Mormom, then I left because I am a Christian, but I don't do organized religion.so,i think no,to your question. I do not allow anyone to force religion on me, but I want my kids to pray and make up their own minds about God. I will give them the basics, but it is up to them to " follow the yellow brick Road" so to speak.

'T ain't in the bible, can't be true.

Another man-made saying.

And I have proof! My cousin married a baptist preacher who made us all bow and pray in a most solemn way before every meal. He ran off with the church organist. So much for prayin' and stayin' -- more like preyin' and strayin'.

Not necessarily, I really don't think it makes one iota of difference...
I believe that early religious indoctrination is a form of child abuse, as the child is spoon fed on scripture and therefore is brainwashed into believing just what their brainwashed parents believe in...
It turns my stomach just thinking about it....
