Why Do People Cry at Church?
So, today at Church, we had an amazing Youth service, and it really touched me, because I am a Saved Christian. But, at the end, everyone went up, to pray, and some people were crying. I am more of a quiet person at Church, and I felt bad that I wasn't crying, and I don't really understand why some people were. Do you cry at Church? And, is it bad that I didn't cry? I'm sorry to sound weird, but I'm confused. Thanks and God Bless!♥

It could be numerous of reasons why, hopefully the main reason is that the Spirit moves inside of them and they just can't help but to react. Two Tuesday's ago, I was sitting here at home talking to God about my job, the job that I have is not very good, the people that is, and I was asking God to move my obstacle out of the way. As I continued to talk to Him, this overwhelming peace and assurance came over me and at that very moment I knew God was going to move in my behalf. I began to cry not because I was sad but because I knew that He touched me in my heart and spirit to let me know that problem was already taken care of.

I always click on the "Christians only" questions. Non-Christians are just as capable of answering. Watch.
If the service was really touching, then these people were most likely crying due to extreme emotion from such a moving service. You didn't cry and this is fine. People are all different, not everyone responds to the same thing in the same way.
Example: some people have difficulty with death, others have an easier time. I'm pretty good with death, as when my mom passed, I was JOYOUS! She was finally free and with God!
You're fine, trust me. (See? Non-Christians answer just fine.)

People have different ways of responding to the presence of God. Some cry. Some shout, some scream, some rock in their chairs, some wave their hands. Some lift their hands. Some close their eyes. Some stare as if in a catatonic state. Some jump up and down. Some run. Some break out in a sweat! Some laugh loudly and smile big. What ever is done it is all for the glory of God. Exodus chapter 34. But if you do not do any of these things does not mean anything. God loves us just the way we are. It is he that changes us anyway.

They cry 'cause they are overtook with emotions, or as some people may claim "the holy spirit" but whichever way you look at it its OK that you never cried, it just shows that the people who did had some stuff going on in there lives and they were just letting it all out.

I am not a Christain, but I can explain this. The service just touched those people in a different way. There is nothing wrong about not crying.

It has to do with an emotional response. You sound young. I just want to warn you as a fellow follower of Jesus about not confusing emotions and Christ. Music and emotions are often confused for the spirit of God, and I am not saying it can't be the spirit overcoming a person, but I am saying Christianity is not about an emotional response every sunday morning! Live your life for Jesus :)

Don't worry-- everyone's religious experience is different. God made us all unique! Personally I think emotionalism in worship is dangerous, because we are tempted to come to worship looking for our own emotional experience, rather than to praise God. We don't praise God because it makes us feel good, and we don't hear sermons and sing songs in order to be moved to tears. We do all these things because as God's children we are to praise God in all that we do. So don't worry that you aren't sobbing because of your experience-- you are simply focusing on God rather than yourself, and that is a good thing.
That being said, there are times when even the most unemotional person could have a glimpse of God's love and compassion or of his or her own sinfulness, which would certainly move anyone to tears. Just don't let that be the goal. A faith built on emotionalism will die as soon as the emotion is gone. Build your faith on trust in and commitment to Jesus Christ, and you will grow in your relationship with God all the days of your life.

I don't cry at church and I can't imagine myself doing it, but some people do. We're all different and react to things differently. You shouldn't feel bad if you don't, no.

I know what you are talking about. Don't worry about it. Some people are more emotional (or outwardly emotional, at least) than others. This has nothing to do with the authenticity of your faith. Everyone is different.
