Having read some of the answers where a few answerers have correctly identified the reasons,I think the root cause could be traced to 'Left Hand' driving practice in most of Asia. A good American driver finds himself quite nervous while driving a car,say in Delhi (India), on the left hand side of the road with other attendant rules, having been used to a 'Right Hand' drive all his driving-life.Yes,comparatively Asians would turn out to be not typically bad drivers but lesser efficient drivers than of drivers of some of the western countries. No harm in accepting what is apparently true.

Ah, well its not "Asians" who are bad drivers, its people who were brought up in Asia.

Now all of these morons will say "Your a racist", but they've never been driving in Vancouver, have they... DIDN'T THINK SO.

Its because in Asia, driving requires a lot of agression; there aren't that many rules, there are dirty cars, narrow roads, poor street signage and everyone drives VERY FAST.

Now I know because on a recent trip to Vancouver, I was the passenger in a car; and out of the SEVENTEEN times someone made a left-hand turn out of a right-hand-turn lane or signalled one way and went the other etc. etc., the person was Asian FOURTEEN times out of seventeen.

Now, that isn't really proper sampling, but doesn't that say something...

Besides, its like that in Britain as well; narrow roads and fast drivers... It just takes a while to get used to North America.

Just because you're Asian doesn't mean your a bad driver; it all depends on WHERE you were raised.

What sort of blanket statement is that? Are Israelis, Turks, Lebanese, Jordanians, Iranians, Pakistanis, Yemenese etc etc etc all bad drivers? Are Greeks, Italians, Romanians, Turks etc all good drivers? Do Turkish drivers become bad drivers once they cross the Bosporus from European Turkey to Asian Turkey? And do they become good drivers again when they cross back?

Finally, why are bigots such bad grammarians? Never use an apostrophe to make a plural.

yeah...have you ever been to Asia?
Some of their major metropolitan areas beat anything we've come up with...the population numbers are extraordinary. Now combine lots of people, with narrow roads, poor infrastructure, and thousands of mopeds zigzaging all over the place....
Asia has one of the highest death tolls in vehicle accidents just because the conditions for driving are terrible and very dangerous. Don't make fun of them until you've tried driving in that mess!!

Since you are asking such a stereotypical question. I have a question for you : Why are people who perpetuate terrible stereotypes such as yourself usually poor in spelling and grammar.

E.g. driver's denotes ownership. You meant to say drivers. Get a dictionary or use spell check before you ask your stereotypical questions at least.
