My father's funeral is in one hour. I want to go to pay my last respects, but I just don't think I can handle it or take it. Is this selfish of me? I do want to go, but I don't want to go through it. I've been crying since last night and am just in a very bad place right now. Any advice?

Even the dead can't praise God, how can we expect them to pray for us?

"For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?" -- Psalm 6:5 KJV

"The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence." -- Psalm 115:16-18 KJV

Especially when they rejected many other books such as the Gospel of Thomas. They may have claimed Thomas didn't "fit" with the others so it should be rejected, but does Revelations "fit"? I don't think so. Why does it fit any more than Thomas? What was their agenda?

You know the way the Bible prohibits uncovering the nakedness of one's wife during her period? [Lev18;19 KJV] Well, is a husband allowed to be pleasured, by his wife, as long as below her waist remains covered?

This is a serious question. Like a man needs some release if you get my drift.

I came to this site because it was about *RELIGION* and as a poster on the Internet that likes to speak about things to do with GOD and Religion is what I post about.

Why do so many of you complain about religious posts? I can see if this was a Home and Gardens or Cooking Site and posts were about religion, well then that would be in-appropriate but it's not.

My mom always said if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen.
Maybe that is what you should ask yourself..

If you don't want to hear about religion why do you come to this site?

Jesus said to love the Lord thy God with all your heart mind soul & strength.

Is it a sin to have religion for a God rather than God Himself?

(of the U.S.) with just the Bill of Rights, like in the beginning. Would there be anarchy? Do you think it was anarchy then, more or less?

Second question: Do you think we would have made the same Bill of Rights if we had it to do all over again, given what we know now?

(I know this isn't the politics section, but I like it here!)

Why did they make them so big? They are bigger than the thumbs up / down bunts.

Were things getting out of hand so Yahoo! had to call more attention to the Abuse feature?

Should I be expecting more violation notices?

I'm trying to find Bibles to use, and I am at a problem: which Bible will be accurate AND understandable? Sometimes, if I think a verse is inaccurate, I go to an accurate translation. But I know I won't be able to find all of them.

I'm trying to find a version to memorize in. I would do KJV cause it's pretty accurate to the "original" texts, but it's so hard to understand and when I quote it, it probably won't make much sense to who I'm talking to.

Does anyone know of a website that rates Bibles by their accuracy to the "original" texts?

(I know that "original" really isn't original, but I mean exclude all texts that are rewritten from more accurate forms)

So, When did you decide to become left handed, just out of curiosity?
But I still don't understand why you'd ever want to do that. Write with the wrong hand and all. Frankly it seems a little unnatural to me; I can't imagine not using my other hand, can't see why you'd ever want to do it. My god, how awkward! It's not like you don't have a choice, like you can't just pick up a pencil with your right hand and write like that . Nothing's physically stopping you, so why should we let you pervert our writing system if you can just write normally like everyone else? Yes, that's right, you're just doing it to be perverse, it can't have any biological root whatsoever. They haven't isolated a lefty gene yet, have they? Unless you can prove it's genetic, it's a choice and you should change it.
And don't give me that crap about one in ten people being left handed. That's just an over inflated statistic to make us think you're everywhere.

I am going to have a home bible study, with a mixed group of people (new Christians, a non-Christian, and mature Christians). It will cover a diff topic each time, so that if someone misses a study they don't feel they have missed out.

Do you have any ideas for:
- ice breakers
- study topics
- ideas to make the study successful & interesting for all the types of people who will attend

Thank you!

A recent survey for a new religious programme on the BBC showed that 62% of respondents thought that not only was the UK becoming more immoral but that religion was the main way in which this situation could be remedied:

Would you agree that we need the churches to play a more active role in UK society in order to heal our broken communities?
