I'm not the one in question but it could have been me if I hadn't had the grace of God not to commit any such sins.

Yes, if there is sincere repentance, then God will forgive. Christ's atonement is sufficient for that as well as all else. There are only a few unforgiveable sins and that requires full knowledge and then denying or betraying that knowledge. I'm sure that the person in question probably knew that what was done was wrong. He needs to acknowledge, confess, feel full remorse, amend his ways and never do it again, asking for forgiveness with full purpose of heart. There is great love and rejoicing in heaven when real repentance takes place.

Yes, God can forgive even a pedophile; but that man must be willing to repent of his sins and turn away from them. God cannot forgive an unrepentant pedophile. God has made incredible changes in the lives of people who were once vile and sin-laden, but now are god-fearing, upstanding citizens. This can never happen of their own power.

Yes I do. A pedophile has done a terrible thing, one that should be punished by the Justice system to the extreme maximum sentence, but if anyone comes to GOD in full awareness of their sins and confesses to GOD and asks for forgiveness of their sins in all sincerity of their heart, then yes I believe that GOD would forgive a pedophile of their sins, and anyone else who asks for forgiveness for that matter.

I think God can forgive a pedophile of his sins. God does not choose who to forgive and what sins to forgive. A pedophile can be forgiven, if he has repented heartily the sins he has committed. That is the only condition in order that God will forgive your sins, no matter how big it is.

I think God will and can forgive everyone for their sins. His only son has already died for all of our sins, past, present and future. Refer to the Bible, I do not know exactly what chapter. Also remember, no sin is greater than the other. They are all equal, if God can forgive a person for killing someone than he can surely forgive a pedophile, especially if he or she asks for forgiveness. I hope this helps, if the pedophile is you and you would like more answers, please seek out a local ministry.

I have been taught that if a person is truly sorry for his sins and turns away from sin, God will forgive. But in the end, it is for God to decide because only God can see what is in someone's heart.

Only if the pedophile himself acknowledges his sin,
asks God for forgiveness, and then turns from this
sinful activity and follows the Lord's teachings. God
will forgive anyone, no matter what the sin, if the
above path of sinning no more is followed.

I think God WILL forgive EVERYONE, no matter what kind of sins you have committed he will always forgive the one who repents of their sins, BUT...I believe that doesn't necessarily mean they don't have to receive the punishment they deserve, besides God said that we must to follow the laws here in earth, so He will forgive them but ...they still have to face their punishment for their crimes.

Yes. Christ's blood is sufficient for any sin. If St Paul made it a job of following around Christians and murdering them, certainly the Lord can forgive any sin.

My big question about pedophilia though is: can a pedophile ever change? I mean without something really unusual and miraculous happening to them? (In a simlar vein to: Well, I was an alcoholic for 40 years but one day just woke up and the Lord had taken away my desire to drink). And if they can't change, I guess that means we have to lock them up for life. That, to me, is a more complicated question/ball of ethical wax.

If the pedophile asks for forgiveness and turns away from his former life, yes. That doesn't mean the pedophile should escape prison, though.
