I agree completely and have been saying this for a long time, especially when they e mail me and say shut up about christianity or religion at all. Like you said, it would be like my being on a gardening site and saying I am sick of hearing about gardening. IT shows how they think.. limited.
and you now what, they come to destroy. I get hate mail and even some bordering on threats God says there are two groups of ppl, those for God and thost that are against. THere will always be war between those two groups.
So its obvious why they come, WAR>> Dont let them deter you tho. Its odd, they try to silence us, yet feel free to speak freely, even to mock us. Its a free world and this site is for us all to speak our opinions, as long as we areng being mean and hateful.
We dont hate the ppl that wont know God. We love them and keep praying and God loves them too. Yet there will be a time, when they make the choice for Jesus or be lost.
Your mother was correct.. If they cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Your mom is a smart lady.

Your view is pretty ethnocentric. If you read the entire topic header, you'll see that the forum is for people to discuss religion AND spirituality.
Contrary to some people's beliefs, religion and spirituality don't have the same definition. Also? Religion isn't limited to Christianity. (One reason I keep coming here? To point out these logic gaps.)
I have no problem with posters talking about their religious beliefs or lack thereof. But not everyone feels the same way - for example, some of the questions directed at atheists from prosletyzing Christians are flat-out rude, not to mention ignorant.
Do you want to hear about MY spiritual beliefs? Is that why you're here ?

No more *DRINK* as a response. now you get the Top Ten List...
Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian
10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.
9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.
8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.
7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!
6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.
5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.
4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."
3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.
2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.
1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

I have been given a thumbs down for saying i like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in answer to a question that asked if it replaced into alright to throw bananas at Christians. LOL i'm getting them plenty, for basic solutions too. i've got even seen thumbs down on each answer to a question the place each answerer replaced right into a Christian--feels like some human beings aim Christians. yet i understand atheists and others experience a similar way. i think of i'm going to easily blame it on trolls. lol

I enjoy discussing religion and spirituality. Discussion means comparing and contrasting ideas, ideas that don't always agree. One of my purposes in posting here is to keep other people honest. If I think someone's question is nonsense, I'll point out why. Are you suggesting no one's religious opinion should ever be challenged? This is "Yahoo! Answers", not "Yahoo! Decrees". You can't make stew without some cooking. Perhaps it is YOU who are not handling the heat very well.

They need to read there own posts and there fellow anti-christian post (they wouldn't have to read many to show their "shut up" christian idea. They claim to be geniuses but can't seem to understand what R&S means and that attacking those you hate doesn't prove their point of veiw.
I have been here a long time and yet to see one posting that made an attempt to prove their belief in nothing spiritual (especially christian).

Interesting that this comes from you. I am not sure who you are directing it towards. Could it be toward atheists whom many don´t think should be here since they do not believe in god, but then their questions or answers have to do with god and religion and spirituality which is what this site is about. it is not what you would like here, but then people just smiling and nodding to whatever you may say does nothing for intellectual discussion, but then that is exactly what many here wish to avoid.

Looks like you got your feelings or faith hurt by someone's post. It is you who apparently cannot stand the heat.
I come to this site because I wasted 15 years of my life looking for a god that isn't here. My purpose is to free people from the chains of dogma, the slavery of religion, the pain and frustration of NEVER measuring up and the senseless waste of years.
I also enjoy talking about spiritual issues. I am spiritual but anti-religious, if you can understand the difference.

Reading about religion is not the problem. Reading loopy rants about things like Iraq and Stargate, or being told that people have a "defect of the heart" if they doubt scripture is quite another. Someone had suggested you take a little break from R&S and I would have to agree.
"Jedi Master" that was brilliant :)

no
this is a site about questions and answers
it doesn't say you can;t go into certain sections if, for example, you don't own a cat.
Atheists are more than allowed to tell you why religion and spirituality is wrong.
