My bf's mom has asked (told) us that we need to be available tom. night so that her mom & all of us can go out for "Grandparents day" she started doing this last year. I said this to my bf last year - it is a fake holiday & not something that needs to be celebrated by forcing us to go out (it's not his g-ma that wants to do it it's his crazy mom) I think a simple card would do. I just want to know if anyone actually celebrates this holiday by going out...

According to God's word at Isaiah 44:6, there is no God besides the Lord of hosts. According to God's word at 2 Corinthians, the god of this world blinds the minds of unbelievers. How are we to reconcile these two scriptures in God's word? Does he contradict himself? Are there other gods or is there only one?

Isaiah 44:6: Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (King James Version)

2 Corinthians 4:4: But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (King James Version)

Many of my friends and family have read the Bible and have become Christians because they believe the Bible is true. When I read the Bible I simply couldn't accept that it was true (I don't know why). Does this mean I am too evil to be a Christian? Am I automatically going to hell because my brain is stupid and wont believe the Bible is true?

WHY did he meet with them and bless them? Didn't he pray about the missing girl and her parents? Where was devine inspiration? Why would god allow him to be made a fool of? How can I now believe anything the pope decrees to be truth? It is all so confusing!!

John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

John 5:18 - "For this cause therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God."

John 8:24 - "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."

Note: In the Greek, "He" is not there.

John 8:58 - "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'"

Exodus 3:14 - "And God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM'; and He said, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"

John 10:30-33 - "I and the Father are one." 31The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."

John 20:28 - "Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

Col. 2:9 - "For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form."

Phil. 2:5-8 - "Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Heb. 1:8 - "But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom."

Quoted from Psalm 45:6, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Thy kingdom."

I heard it everywhere from people who are atheists. Also my friend say this thing when he is surprised or when he sees something that is amusing. I'm too afraid to ask him this myself because I don't want to intimidate him or anything like that.

I just answered a question in which atheists were accused of not knowing anything about religion, and as a result none of their objections to religion made any sense.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgRcpZrMo.Ybhfyx8Qp6znTd7BR.?qid=20070907040152AA6IR4Q

Anyway... after answering the question, I went back and clicked 'edit'... made a change... and then, I found that I was blocked.

I consider this to be a very good sign. Apparently, my answer made the questioner look so foolish that his/her immediate reaction was to 'block' me... and I am certain that when I check my e-mail, I will find a vioation notice... even though (and I'm sure everyone will agree) that it is NOT a violation.

So... I can't get back to see the question and answers, and I'm hoping that someone can take a peek and let me know how many thumbs up/down there are... assuming that the answer is still there.

Strike It Rich

"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
(Galatians 3:29)

One of the problems that hung around me for years was poverty. But I remember the day I decided I wasn't going to be poor anymore. I was reading in the Word where it says that the blessing of Abraham has come upon the Gentiles by Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:14). Then I got down to the twenty-ninth verse where it says, "If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and HEIRS ACCORDING TO THE PROMISE." Suddenly the truth hit me. I got so excited I could hardly stand myself.

I turned back over to Deuteronomy 28 and--line by line--I read those promised blessings. "Blessed in the city, blessed in the country. Blessed going out, blessed coming in. Blessed in your barns, blessed in your fields, blessed in all the works of your hands." Man, I had struck it rich!

I'd been going to school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and I was living in a dumpy little house nobody would want to live in. But when I read those promises in the Word, I saw the light. I realized God already had redeemed me from the curse of poverty.

Well, that afternoon in my back bedroom, I took my Bible in my hand and I said: "I want to announce to Almighty God in heaven and to Jesus Christ of Nazareth, to all the angels of heaven, to all the demons of hell, and to anybody else that cares anything about hearing it, that from this day forward my needs are met according to God's riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

I told Him, "I'm standing on Your Word, and I'm looking to You to take care of me. I'll never ask a man for a dollar."

That was many years ago and I never have. You know why? Because that decision connected me to the power of God. It'll do the same for you.

In the US, what race is the minority?

I was looking for scholarships and majority of them are geared for hispanics and blacks. Why???
Please don't tell me it is because of income. I know a few, very wealthy hispanics and blacks and are well educated.

This day and age it seems that the white's have become minorities.
Is there a real sensor test to confirm this?
Does anyone else agree with this statement?

In my home ar goshts which me, my girlfriend, and my granddaughter has seen. So I really know that they are real!!! Do I need a priest, or a pastor, decon, or church elder to cast them out? I have annointed the house with blessed oil, and have prayed and fasted, and have commanded them in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ for them to leave my house. Yes it works. But I don't understand why 3 1/2 years later that 2 of the 5 came back here recently. Fyi. I have been on 4 mission trips to South Africa, and 5 mission trips to Guatemala. And also had other questional things in my house that I did not know which could habor demons, but these things did. Yes, I brought back many things from those trips and elswhere, and I should have thought of demons being attached to these objects. So now that the demons and at least one of them is a poltergeist are living here sometimes. How do I get rid of them forever, so I can sleep at night for once? (Last night I never went to bed for fear.)
