1. They are biodegradable means doesn't degenerate.
2. Doesn't mix with the environment in normal due course.
3. If burnt causes environmental pollution.
4. They pile up as waste and occupy all the place.
5. Ackward to see over time.
6. Cause health problems to animals when eaten.
7. Petroleum product which is being replenished.
8. Since they are use and throw, the consumption is high.
9. Add heavily to the city solid waste hence add heavily to cost.
10. ADd to flooding of the city roads.
11. In Mumbai, these were one of the reason for flooding every year.
These are only some of the reasons.

We should not use polythene bags because it causes pollution and it is non- Bio degradable.
