After a person is dead, if their name is submitted to the temple by some one (assuming you are not a member) then yes some one will be baptized in your behalf.
Now just because a person has the ordinance of baptism performed for them does not mean that they are members of the church, it just means that particular person has an opportunity to accept that ordinance.

Luciano, is that you? We've finally found a way to communicate with dead people and its not through Haley Joel Osment, but Yahoo Answers? Awesome.

No, if you're still alive, the LDS church won't kidnap you and baptize you in your temple.

If you're a newly dead Luciano Pavarotti--even if you hit those sweet high notes in death like in life...the Mormons still won't baptize you in your temple unless your loved ones give consent and you have a LDS relative who does the work.

Don't worry, you won't be Pavarotti, newest soloist for the Heavenly Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Hi Pavarotti,

Are you channeling through a person, or can dead people really use computers? If you have an LDS relative, then when they do their family history they will be able to submit your name for baptism. A member of the church, usually family, will then be baptized in your name. Once that is done you will have the opportunity to accept or reject it. If you don't like it, then it has no effect. If you do, then you will be able to receive all the blessings as if you had been baptized while you were alive.

What are you talking about? We don't go to the temple and just baptize people! If one of your descendants becomes LDS and decides to do that AFTER you are dead and burried for a minimum of 1 year, then it is their choice. None of the work in the temple is done without permission from ONE living family member. But that's after you're dead. So, why should you care?

EDIT for Jesus Saves: You are completely wrong in your "facts" you state. Do a little research before you start spouting off at the mouth and making yourself look like an idiot because you give incorrect information. What you have said would be like me trying to tell everyone that the sky is orange and the grass is purple. Get over yourself already!

Sure, we kidnap people off the streets and drag them into our temples and baptise them whether they want it or not.

J/K

When a person dies who was not a member of our church, we will somehow do vicarious baptisms for and in behalf of that person, just in case they died without hearing the gospel or getting the chance to accept it. However, just because we have vicariously baptised them, that does not mean that we automatically count them as a Mormon. We have no way of knowing if they have accepted or rejected that baptism. They DO have the choice. We simply do the baptism.

You are using a dead man's name and that's why you are saying this. The only time someone would baptize for you if a relative processes your name to the church.

You make it sound like someone is forcing you to be baptized.

Maybe they have ropes, tie you up and dunk you.

I don't think that new or lower level Mormons are allowed into their temples.

The Mormon faith teaches that after death one can be baptised into heaven by a Mormon standing in for them in baptism. They got into trouble a few years ago for baptising holocost Jews into Mormonism. They had to unbaptise (not even found in thier book) to appease the Jewish community. They have baptised Hitler into heaven among others. Their own Scriptures say if you die in your sins you remain in them and cannot be redeemed. Do your research. This cult was founded by a pologimist manwho didnt believe what he claimed to translate. The book of mormon says it is an abomination to have many wives but he did. He defied God and his precious book. Jacob 2:24 BOM. Jesus is the only true God and thur him you can be saved. Eph 2:8-9 says we dont have to work our way to heaven but it is by grace and a free gift of God. Seek ye out the book of the Lord and read. Isa 34:16. Gods word is right. Pas 33:4 Dont die and go to hell in a cult. Jesus is the way the truth and the life. John 14:6

They will usually wait until you are dead before they get to this.
