seriously, forget about the religion they belong to. which afterlife sounds the best?

1- you sit around on a cloud and do nothing.

2- you get 72 busted virgins

3- you become reincarnated and live on this earth again

4- you sit around in a grand hall of warriors feasting, fighting and screwing women all day.

5- you get your own beer and stripper factory (however there is no guarantee the strippers will screw you, but it is implied).

6- you burn in a lake of fire and brimstone while satan and his gay lover saddam hussein rule over you.

7- you float around in purgatory doing nothing.

8- you roam the earth as a ghost creating comedic mischief or pain and suffering wherever you go unless you are captured by the ghostbusters and are then forced to spend eternity in a containment unit hoping in vain that some idiot at the EPA will shut it down and free you.

9- you are worm-food.

The Messiah is supposed to come from King David's line. But when you read Jesus' geneology Joseph is from King David's line not Mary. If you wiped out all of King David's line Jesus could still be here if Mary was indeed a virgin when she got pregnant with Jesus. For Jesus to be from King David's line Joseph would have to be his dad. So could someone please explain this to me.

I've sinned enough times in my life (like shouting at my parents when I'm mad), and I am sorry for those things, yet I know I will probably do it again even though I can't help it. How will this go with God? Like I said, I'm sorry for these things but if I do it again after repenting will repenting yet again even matter?

I'm supremely ticked off at drug companies right now because I went to pick up a measly tube of prescription skin cream that my doctor prescribed to me and they wanted over $300.00 for it! That was WITH my insurance--WITHOUT insurance it would have been over $400.00. I know by coming on here to complain about it I'll get a bunch of conservatives ranting about free trade capitalism to me. My question--would Jesus have been OK with a company charging $300.00 to someone who obviously needs their product as medicine, and if not, why do the Christian conservatives back capitalism so fervently if it's such an "un-Christlike" concept?

When it comes to temptation, the biggies are fortune, fame, power, and pleasure. By resisting each, out in the open, we cultivate character down inside. So keep your eyes open and your shield handy. The battle is on right now."
This was in my daily Zondervan I receive and I just thought I'd share as a reminder to all of us who want to have good character and integrity.
The integrity of a person is determined by what they do when no one is looking (except always remember God is always looking and you can't fool Him)

I have heard athiest many times use the "Santa Clause" argument. You can't disprove or prove Santa Clause's existense in the same way you can't disprove or prove God's existense. Here is the problem with that argument. It is not WRONG to assume that Santa Clause exists. Even more so , It is actually logically functional to assume that he does. If someone told you there is a box somewhere in the room that you have never seen and they wanted you to guess what was in the box, it would be virtually impossible for you to know what was in the box. You have never experienced this box with your physical senses. You don't know what size it is. It could be as big as a house or as small as a shoe box. The point is you have no tangible or intangible evidence. You are "data blind". Any guess you would make would be as vaild as another. Whether you guessed a whale or a mouse both would still be equally valid. The only factor that could change this is if you gained "data sight" by having evidence.

Roman historian Cornelius Tacitus recorded information pertaining to Jesus, In 115 A.D., Tactius wrote about the great fire in Rome, "Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberious at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their center and become popular. Accordingly, an arrest was first made of all who pleaded guilty; then upon their information, an immense multitude was convicted, not so much of the crime of firing the city, as of hatred against mankind. Mockery of every sort was added to their deaths, Covered with

christians preach, in great detail, with certainty, of what they clainm is unshakable truth. which happens to be a different set of certainties from person to person.
how is each persons account accurate?
also concidering its all based on one book.
where do you get your thoughts?
have you not concidered that this is all they are, just thoughts, from your conciousness?not an invented supernatural being?

the inherent fear of religious doctrine, & death, drives people to avoid the simple truth, & grasp at straws, like a child making excuses for not wanting to go to school.

the truth is ok, its all we have.
you just need to look for the good, & be grateful.

people are prepared to invest faith because they like the sound of the reward. its not that it makes sense over what is real.

Since you cannot do this and never will be able to because it is not possible to search the entire universe at once for the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and there would be no "evidence" of him one way or another if he did not exist, then I will remain a slave to my Noodley Lord.

Whats with all the lame "disprove" questions today? Why can't ANYONE figure out how STUPID of an argument that is? You can't disprove __________ with no evidence to support it, so it must be right!

Honestly, is that what holds some people to a belief system? The fact that nobody can prove it wrong?
Am I just being naive or is that a really bad reason to adhere to ANYTHING?

...may be so, but who thinks there are other varying factors that sway this "fact".

Could it be that many of these statistics come from lower class, poor communities where these girls and their families can not afford abortions?

Go into the mostly white, upperclass neighborhood high schools and ask how many girls had their families (or their rich boyfriends) pay for one, or more abortions. They may not say, so why don't you go to the doctor's hospitals, and clinics, and ask how many rich, white, teenage girls had abortions funded by their parents/and or boyfriends?

Opinions?
