once you're a newborn you hear on your mum and dad. once you grow to be an grownup you're estimated to apply your recommendations. Unfortunately, children do not get to choose what religion they follow, it is usually placed upon them by whichever parent is more "devout" If you believe your religion is dumb you can always explore others and change it and when you have children you will in turn make your children follow your religion - :)

No. Let your kids choose. If you were born Catholic and your parents won't stop pestering you to get your kids baptized then just do it, if Catholicism is wrong than splashing some magic water on them won't kill them.
