There is a church down the road from me called Morningstar Baptist, with an adjacent preschool.

WTF?

You think that Satan is the morning star or that this is a pagan name? Actually Jesus is called the bright and morning star at times. It's just a comparison to Jesus being like the "star" Venus that heralds the arrival of the Sun in the morning. It's suggesting that he is the herald of the truth and light.

They are neither. If it is a Baptist church then the name doesn't mean much. It is a recognized religion.
A preschool is providing early education and maybe a place a child can be left while the parents work to provide for their child.

Morning Star is a good thing. The reason people call Satan the morning star is because of King Lucifer, who was a great king that fell and became wicked. The Bible compares Satan and King Lucifer together which is where Lucifer comes from.

"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!" It's really a nostalgic lamentation to call Satan the morning star, not a bad thing.

change the words: "son of the morning" to "my hero" or something similar and you'll get where it comes from.

Morningstar as in Lucifer?
Have you checked out what type of church it is?
Could be fun... If not, at least an eye opener.

Primo is right -- Scripture refers to Jesus as the Morning Star.

And, as usual, Meat Bot's ignorance has gotten the best of him. Satan is the Day Star.

Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

Wasn't Lucifer the Morning Star? Interesting.

++++++++++++
Edit:

Revelations 22:16
I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

In Isaiah 14:12
"How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit."

Well they made up the rules in the first place so why wouldn't they make Satan a good guy now, probably decided to throw a new twist on christianity to catch some sheep to follow them that might have been missed on the first sweep.

In Revelation, it s Jesus that is referred to as God's "Morningstar" (the word in the original text is "lucifer"). In fact, this is one of the only uses of that term in the Bible.
