Good job, Kay and Isotope...this hit was originally by the ...think...Ink Spots in the 40's...the Platters remade this and many more of the old Ink Spots' tunes, "Harbor Lights" was one of them. I remember them best for "The Great Pretender." Both Dolly Parton and Freddie Mercury remade this song in the 80's...both with their own take on it.

The Platters Twilight Time

Heavenly shades of night are falling
It's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling
It's twilight time
When purple colored curtains
Mark the end of the day
I hear you my dear at twilight time

Deepening shadows gather splendor
As day is done
Fingers of night will soon surrender
The setting sun
I count the moments darling
Till you're here with me
Together at last at twilight time

Here in the after-glow of day
We keep our rendez-vous beneath the blue
Here in the sweet and same old way
I fall in love again as I did then

Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me
Like days of old
Lighting the spark of love that fills me
With dreams untold
Each day I pray for evening just
To be with you
Together at last at twilight time

Together at last at twilight time

You are hitting all my favourites, love the Platters

as the daylight fades into the darkening hues
the angels of creation withdrawing once again the lights by which reality is perceived
and the more eternal lights of higher places come out to show endurance through the darkness
it is those in-lightened who maintain continuance on earth itself that rally forth
and, as all others wind down, emerge to keep the gears of life in motion
it is they that assign by duties portions to the night as others have hours of the day
Not the usual cut of person are those who labor in man made lights
with fewer active populations than most endure
nor do they enact the usual cut of eye to eye when there be so few to view
with different presentations then just being part of greater masses
aye a different beingness than those who live by day is unfolded by those who labor in the lights of darkness
and then eventually it is even the night also that transmutes to different greys
and for the day things get prepared to bring those others of ourselves to our own times of rest
we withdraw again to our own places to allow the commotions to commence
and as all those that do all the things they do do that which they call life
the workers of the night find their own twilights and drift off to the different dreams that are their own
