It's just ridiculous. They want us, the users, to self-police because they can't possibly read every single Q&A, but the people posting most of the obnoxious garbage are the same people doing most of the reporting.
There's no way to stop clever trolls from posting profanity, there's no way to stop veiled insults, there's no way to keep people on topic, so why do they bother?

Yes it is getting out of hand. I mean, it used to say Abuse, but now it says REPORT IT in big ol letters. That just is an invitation to do it, regardless of what the content is.
The only person I have EVER reported on this site is $mitty, and others like him. I do no report anyone else.

I hadn't noticed them until people started pointing them out. Hmm. The main thing I notice is that "abuse" has been replaced by "it". Apparently the qualifications have been watered down yet again.

Not to me - I rarely report anyone, mostly spammers trying to sell their services. OTOH, I have to laugh at the guy who claims atheists are the reporting ones; all of my "violations" have been from believers, usually because they don't like holes poked in their really poor arguments!

I've never found the old ones tempting. Same now. I very rarely report anything. I think reporting is for crybabies.

I don't find any need for them. If you don't like the question, ignore it and move on or give them a piece of your mind.

I don't know, I can't fit them on my monitor.
But apparently they changed how they handle reports; if you report and it's overturned, your reports are "less influential."
Less influential... Hmm... So basically your reports turn into the Washington Post editorial page. BOOYAH!
