A lot of Christians, have said; "Science does not disprove the bible. Science confirms the bible." Can someone give an example? NO BIBLE-SITE COPY/PASTE CRAP.

I was just wondering what it was in the Bible that caused Christians to be so against Harry Potter and that sort of thing.

I'm not being sarcastic either. For anyone to believe that this split second of eternity we call life is all there is, is really limiting. To believe that we are more than this snapshot sets us free.Atheists will say they are free from religious oppression though and completely miss the point just because they are too arrogant to accept simple reason.Simple reason is that you do not have to belong to any religion in order to admit to yourself that you as an ego personality you are not very important in the scheme of things. That there is so much MORE.

Why is "believing is seeing" a better approach to life than "seeing is believing"?

Can faith be proven valuable than reason? If so, is reason required to do so or do you have to rely on faith to prove the value of faith?

i was just thinking about my life and i realized i've never sinned... ever. not once. so now i'm wondering. does this mean i still have to accept jesus as my savior since i've already lived a perfect life and thus do not need salvation since my soul is pure? also if i were to be killed tomorrow could people around the world accept me as their savior, and i could take on the burden of their sins so that they can get into heaven. i think it would be good for god, seeing as how he would get all those extra souls of people who don't want to accept jesus as their savior. and since it's much easier to prove my existence than jesus's i'd say those doubters won't have so many questions as to whether or not i do actually exist.

Two weeks ago a person I consider to be a gifted psychic gave me a reading and she told me about my death. She gave me a very detailed description. I don't believe in going to one psychic and getting a reading; rather a couple, say two or three, for a confirmation. Are there any gifted psychics reading this question who is willing to give me a free reading on the topic (my death), so that I may please have a confirmation. If you don't see anything, please don't answer this question or e-mail me.

Anyone else reading this question, please refrain from posting sarcastic comments, pretending to be psychic and so forth. If you have nothing to say that can help me, rather say nothing at all. Thank you very much.

I presume I don't have to give any details about myself, as a true psychic would probably know things about me without me having to tell. If you do on the other hand need info about me (something that may help), please ask. I would appreciate any help given on the topic.

do you turn to God immidiately or as the last resort?
Me, I always seek God's help and guidance whether in a difficult situation or not. I believe in God 110%, God has answered so many of my prayers. I am so incredibly thankful to God.

I'm pro-choice. I have been with my boyfriend for six years (since I was16) and we don't use protection. When I get pregnant I have an abortion.I personally believe there is nothing wrong with this, as all my abortions (there have been 7 in total) have been before the first month of pregnancy(i.e when there is only a mass of cells). If I had found out I was pregnant at three months I would have a more difficult decision to make.
I am intitled to my views on abortion and other people, althought they may disagree, must accept that they are my views and there should be no need for anything nasty.
Howvever my parents have abandoned me and say they want nothing more to do with me as a result of my actions. Why can't they just accept that I am my own person now? Would they disown me because I don't like Hotpot and they do? When does this end and why can't people understand all humans are different?

I work in a college residence office at the moment (its only temporary).

As we get closer to the school year, I'm starting to notice a disturbing pattern.

You have no idea how many parents have called us asking if there's a maid service we could recommend because their child doesn't know how to wash dishes, wash clothes, clean the bathroom, etc.

Not only that but the number of parents that call us to find out their childrens room number (we can't give it to them, its against the law. The student is an adult, that means we can only give it to the student) is staggering.

Do parents no longer believe in raising their children to be able to take care of themselves when they're an adult? No child should ever graduate high school without knowing how to turn on the washing machine.

I know, it not related to religion, but I love your opinions. DOes it seem that we are sheltering our kids from too much?

I'm not just asking about religious folks who are trying to get other people to join their flock. The question refers to any person who spends time and energy trying to get other people to switch from their strongly held beliefs (or opinions) to something different under the premise that theirs is "the right way". I would appreciate it if those who answered were serious and thoughtful, although response from all is encouraged. Thanks!

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. - Acts 9:3

For Moses, it was the burning bush.
For Peter, it was walking on water.
For Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, it was walking through the burning furnace untouched.
For Paul, it was being blinded and spoken to by Jesus on the Damascus road.
For Daniel, deliverance from the lions' den.
For Joshua, parting the Jordan River and crossing into the Promised Land.

There have been many defining moments in the lives of human beings that changed their lives forever. These defining moments often set the course for the balance of their lives.
We could go on and on. Each of these servants had years of preparation leading up to their defining moment. These moments forced the servants to be involved in something beyond their human experiences. It took them outside their own paradigms of life. God had to move them outside their own boxes. And when He did, their lives were never the same.
