A lot of Christians, have said; "Science does not disprove the bible. Science confirms the bible." Can someone give an example? NO BIBLE-SITE COPY/PASTE CRAP.

no1home2day: Thank you! You actually managed to give me some answers, there. For the record, I never ask questions looking to be a witty little snot nosed atheist. Or just to ruffle some feathes. (Well, I usually don't.) I merely, honestly want an explanation to back up things that are said- hence the purpous of every question I've ever asked.

Farmercec, you misunderstand. Science does not, nor has ever claimed to know everything. Any scientist is completely satisfied saying "I don't know", and that's fine for me. If you don't know, you don't know.

Well, C.L Richardson, very well indeed. You gave the best answers thus far. Even though I'm curious as to some of your..sources, I'll take your word for it, and as I've always vowed, I will look into, and examine everything you just cited, with a completely open mind, to see if you've convinced me of your god, or if I find falcities in what you've said. Goo'day.

Well, if we don't quote the Bible, how do we demonstrate the scientific accuracy? Hmmm. That's quite a dilemma there.
Well, sorry, but if I'm going to demonstrate that the Bible is scientifically accurate, I'll tell you what - I won't QUOTE the Bible, I'll just paraphrase what it says about different things. Is that better?
I'm certain that the skeptics will mock, pat you on the back, and tell you what a good job you did at confounding Christians, but they won't actually answer your question. It's a "mutual admiration society", at best, with neither a scientific backing, nor logic behind it, but they will, undoubtedly, feel really good to be able to tear down some more straw men, thinking they did something wonderful. You can tell by looking at the "thumbs up/thumbs down" scoring.
Ok. Let me get off my little soap box and actually answer your question.
When medicine was an issue of leeches, the Bible already declared that the life of the flesh is in the blood, which only modern medicine understands to be true.
When contemporary science stated that the world was a flat pancake on the back of a giant elephant being carried around on the back of a giant turtle (or some such silliness), the Bible already described the spherical nature of the universe. (in fact, some skeptics believe that William Shakespeare ("Shake the Spheres", et al) added this to get his own name in the Bible - nonsense, of course).
When contemporary science thought that everything consisted of earth, fire, water and - uh - something else (can't remember - sorry), the Bible talked about the elements, how that the things we see are comprised of things we can not see.
Concerning the nuclear, the Bible talks about how in the last days, the powers of heaven (Gr: "uranimos") will be shaken, and the very elements themselves will melt with a fervent heat - a very good description of what happens in a nuclear explosion, written by someone who didn't have our technology. Furthermore, if you read the famous last-days prophecy in Joel 2:28... in the original Hebrew, a very good description of an atomic bomb (and the resulting mushroom cloud) is described.
Is that enough? Put your hands down. I'm not taking any questions.

How can science prove or disprove the Bible?
If science proved the Bible right, I would question the validity and intent of the person making the claim, if it proves the Bible wrong, then I embrace it even tighter!
Christianity is all about "Faith", not "Science". If there is proof that God exists, then where is the freewill and choice that needs to be made to come to faith in Christ Jesus?
There is no scientific proof of God, and there never will be. Christ's death on the cross needs faith, trust, and obedience to be accepted. Not a testable model, and supporting data...

Sorry, I just saw this question... There are many instances where "new" scientific discoveries were already written in the bible. I don't have the scriptures memorized but will edit when I find them.
The earth is hanging upon nothing
The earth is round
Accurately describes the water cycle
Archeological findings have confirmed what the bible said about people and places of the past... Please don't blast me because I don't cite specific examples of this, I admit freely I don't store up all this information in my brain. I will have to re-discover what I read before and that will take resources I don't have at my fingertips at the moment...
There are more examples of the harmony between the bible and science, sorry I can't dredge them up at the moment.
Edit: UGH! I just BRISTLE when I read people saying that we HAVE to believe soley on the basis of blind faith! We were given this wonderful mind and then are told we can't USE IT?? That makes absolutely no sense to me. No, the Creator I know wants us to believe in him based on the ability to use our reasoning skills. Sorry, just had to rant a bit. I'm better now... :)

I pay attention to several fields of science that in my opinion allude to the validity of the Bible. One such thing is plate tectonics, another archeology.
I will give you sites, but mind you, they are not religious sites, they are secular.
This site is alluding to the validity of Zechariah 14:4 ;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Rift_Valley
This valley began to open up rapidly last year at a tremendous rate:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,248702,00.html
To me this is way too convenient to be a coincidence. Jesus did talk about earthquakes future to his time on Earth, but this is more specific. This has to do with a certain prophecy concerning his return.
Archeology is another thing that is scientific. They find stuff, and then they use whatever kind of detective work they can in order to place the things in order of history. Any theory they have can be brought to the table, and they are all heard. But with the use of the Bible, there have been confirmed many, many things. One does not have to search very far to find them on the internet.
I hope this showed you just the tip of the iceberg of what's being found out. I could go into the study of Haplotypes, and Hermeneutics, but perhaps I have gone on too long already.

Isaiah 40:22 "It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth,"
Considering that everybody in those days figured the earth was flat, Isaiah made a pretty enlightened statement.
Job 26:7 "He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing"
Rather bold statement considering that many ppl believed the earth was a flat surface that was supported by two elephants atop a turtle.

I will throw something against the wall and see if it sticks.
Well they sent the Hubble craft out to find the end of the universe and all it has done has just kept going and going and going.....seems it is still photographing and sending back newer and newer data as to the breath; height and width and endlessness to our universe not to mention the billions of galaxies and universes it keeps finding. Amazing....isn't it. And now they say they even found a dead spot, of a billion light years.(note that is light years) .....well for them to of found that dead spot.....they had to have a reflection to bounce off on the other side of that billion light years of dead spot....so what reflected back? .wow...it boggles the mind doesn't it. I am tired thinking about this....got a take a nape.. Proving is easy, its the denying that is hard.

I would say that Science is not in conflict with the Bible.
If I said that Science confirms the bible, I would have something to base it on.
But I do not.
Hope this helps, maybe the Christians like me who read it are not the ones that make that claim.
Peace be with you!

well, i am not against science, but some questions i have like, how did the eye evolve? science has yet to explain that, if fact, science has yet to explain and prove how to create life from lifelessness.
i am a christian. i like some science, but when some people started driving the "evolution" i started asking questions like that and they never could answer me.
that is when talking face to face :)
