I want to make it clear first that it's not getting to me, because a couple of other questions concerning this gave people the impression that this was upsetting me. It's not, I am just genuinely curious as to how people can actually think this way. To those who hate entire groups of people based on news stories and stereotypes, should I assume you weren't all that great in school? Any thinking person who is observant can easily see that not everyone under a label is alike. I keep seeing things like "All Muslims want to kill all NonMuslims" and "All Muslims commit suicide". Uh, hello? Tell me one time, any single time, that any Muslim on here has tried to kill you or threatened to find you and kill you. IF anyone here did that, they'd be in jail. And if all Muslims commit suicide everyday, ummm, how are we here then? Did it ever occur to you that the reason things are NEWS is because it's unusual? If it was commonplace in a country, no attention would be given. Are you ok?

Supposedly, the VI = the roman numeral 6
the S = Sigma, the Greek value of 6
the A = the Babylonian 6
What do you think? Any truth, or convenient coincidence for those who seek meaning of the 666...?

Have you ever thumbed down an answer simply out of malice for the poster regardless of the material they posted?
Do you thumbs down people simply because you dislike them?

Can you tell me where tolerance, diversity, and progressive mindset fits in if you thumbs down for such reasons?

did anyone feel that you would like to come out straight and yet you feel afraid dat people wud not just affirm because they think you are not?
did you feel you are not gay but people speculate you are and so you feel afraid to be straight, that is, to live a straight life having girlfriends, enjoying masturbation, thinking about women, having a low voice, going to gym, looking more masculine, staying with other men, and just basically being a typical smart guy? Because i feel that i'm not gay but i feel afraid to live the "man life" bacause people are just not used to think that i am. Btw, im 19 and haven't had a girlfriend yet, but i get emotionally involved with women but avoid any sexual involvement because i see my "female relatives", which i am very close with, in them. im also attracted physically with men that i want to become. I get frustrated when i see good-looking ones and seem want to swap our faces. I seem also to be conscious and more sensitive with my actions with dem

At the risk of offending christians etc, I can't help but be a little irritated when someone answers by blindly using a 6 paragraph verse from the 'good book'.

I mean, don't they have any thoughts of their own on the subject.

1: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

2: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

3: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

4: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

5: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

6: 'You shall not murder.'

7: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

8: 'You shall not steal.'

9: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

10: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

Should it be illegal to commit adultery? Or to work on the Sabbath? Or to desire other people's property?

My neighbor thinks we evolved from a bunch of monkeys, eventhough the Bible tells us that we was created by God. Needless to say, he's also a liberal.

Why do many Christians say that some parts of the Bible are literal, while others are metaphoric or symbolic? Many Christians defend certain parts of the Old Testament where God’s words are questionable (i.e. his destroying of cities, telling humans to hate their parents, his favoritism shown towards men over women, etc.) by saying that they are not to be taken literally. Then, they explain what God really meant when he said these things. If these Christians are correct, how do they know when other parts of God’s word are to be taken literally? Or, is the entire Bible like a Bob Dylan song and entirely metaphoric? If this is the case, wouldn’t the only people who could take the real meaning of the metaphor be the highly intellectual? Or, are all of the Christians just tangled up in blue?
