To me, what you are saying sounds egotistical and arrogant, not the opposite. "For anyone to believe that this split second of eternity we call life is all there is, is really limiting." You don't like the idea of being "limited" to this life because surely you deserve so much better, right? Sounds like a problem with acceptance. I know who I am on the inside and what I have got going for me in this split second of eternity and I intend to take full advantage and live the heck out of it. Not pine away for the unreasonable.
"..you are not very important in the scheme of things." True, but I and my life are very important to me and that's all that really matters.

Isn't it kind of presumptuous of you to suggest that atheists don't believe that life continues after the corporeal dies? Or that we aren't part of something beyond the material? Some do, some don't. The only thing "atheist" defines is one thing (the existence of deities) that a person does not believe. It doesn't define what a person does or does not believe beyond that.
I'm an atheist and I happen to think that it's reasonable to believe that consciousness continues on in some form after physical death. After all, nothing ever ceases to exist - it only changes forms. But I'm not so arrogant as to say I know what form it takes or how "afterlife" works.

There is NOTHING after life. This does not make me believe I am important in the scheme of things, as the fact that this is all there is makes everything ultimately insignificant.

To believe that you'll last forever just because 2 people had sex and created you is idiotic.Oh because I was born now means I'll last forever somewhere,I better not last forever anywhere.Couple thousand years maybe but forever is a long time.

I think if I were an atheist I would hide in a corner and be afraid to come out. I am being serious. Atheist believe if they die it is over. There is no more. I think I would be terrified of death.
As a Christian I lead a joyful life. I do things for fun and just basically have a good life. However I have no fear of death. Because I know after death things are even better.

No, to believe there is more is to be optimistic to the point of delusion. And time is relative. I don't discount the many wonderful years I am given. It's all about how much you can put into the time you have. Why mourn when we have so much to celebrate?
I may not be important to anyone else, but I'm damned important to me and my family. That's all I ask for in life. I don't need to be special, or important. It's enough to be happy.

Atheists don't sell themselves short.
They are arrogant in believing that this is all there is. Human beings know less than 1% about all there is to know. It is arrogant to think human beings are really all that evolved.
In the past 6000 years, human beings have not changed at all.

Well said. To think that millions of complex bodies are functioning properly every day. That can't be a fluke or science. That a sperm and egg come together and create a breathing, living human being. That can't be a fluke or science. The sun goes up the sun comes down every day. That can't be a fluke or science. Atheists are, i believe, for the most part, self centered and full of pride. Their egos are huge and they think life evolves around them. What a sad existence.

"For anyone to believe that this split second of eternity we call life is all there is, is really limiting"
For anyone to think there is more is either fear of death or extreme overestimation of one's importance. Are you afraid to go, or just a big windbag? Or both?
"because they are too arrogant to accept simple reason"
...and that is when we stopped listening to your dumbass rant and started laughing at you.

Sell ourselves short? My friend, you are looking at it the wrong way. Us being here is astronomically improbable, and yet here we are. We are ourselves a true wonder of the universe. Sure, a star is so much larger than we are. But there is not a star that can ponder its own existence. Our 15 pounds of gray matter can do that.
