Deuteronomy 18:10-14
There should not be found in you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, anyone who employs divination, a practicer of magic or anyone who looks for omens or a sorcerer, or one who binds others with a spell or anyone who consults a spirit medium or a professional foreteller of events or anyone who inquires of the dead. For everybody doing these things is something detestable to Jehovah, and on account of these detestable things Jehovah your God is driving them away from before you. You should prove yourself faultless with Jehovah your God.
“For these nations whom you are dispossessing used to listen to those practicing magic and to those who divine; but as for you, Jehovah your God has not given you anything like this.

He counts the power and knowledge and reverence and faithfulness, and holiness (dedicatedness) towards Him as top rule. Trust in Him and you'll b saved: That's His message.
If you trust in other things it leads to other things, that's the nature of sin.
So Sorceries are just another ''thing" to divide you against God. Your first poster showed you a valid argument as to where to find it in the Bible, you can see for yourself, it wouldn't be wise to depend on other things.
THAT being said, the Harry Potter movies are entertainment. They are not something that have eternal implications unless you begin to trust in them to tell you the truth about something. Then the eternal implications are negative. Otherwise it is nothing but entertainment.

Not in the New Testament. In fact, there is a reference to a sorcerer in the book of Acts. His name was Simon.
In the Old Testament, God forbade the practice among Jews because his intent with all of the rules and commandments was to have a group of people, pure in blood (race), who would be OBVIOUSLY different from the people whom they encountered on their travels. Since he dealt with them through prophets and the Ark of The Covenant, there was no need for suthe sayers, etc. He did not want them seeking their fortunes from anyone but him. He also wanted them to know WHO their god really was. That's why idols were prohibited.

If you walk with Christ hand in hand, that question would not be asked, because if you were to look at the movie you would see that nothing in there is of GOD. Harry potter stories are wicked, full of fear and evil. Nothing evil is of GOD, that should close this chapter!!! It's not of good taste, and we should not be teaching our children wicked things. We should teach our children to fight the giants instead of entertaining them. I rate the book evil and disturbing for children. WOW LETS PUT FEAR IN OUR CHILDREN, what a way to show love and put hope in a child's life. More kids on medication!

i think there are spirits here on earth. yet so some distance as ghosts of human beings that have handed on; no. i think some spirits are evil and intend to lie to, and would fake to be somebody that has handed. do not open your self as much because it. human beings say constantly Psychics, oujia boards, and tarot enjoying cards are danger loose enjoyable. yet think of approximately it, would devil try to lie to you with something that became into of course evil and hazardous? of direction not, a "danger loose" board activity is a lot extra useful.

Well somewhere in there it says that you should kill witches... I suppose that's one thing, which I guess is further proof that one should not take their mythological texts as fact...
