...what's the point in bringing them with you to church? Aren't the kids just a waste of the pastor's time and money?

Husbands and wives
leave your FAT wife (Husband)?
If your wife (Husband) becomes FAT, leave her (him)?
If your wife (Husband) is in a bad mood, leave her (him)?
Beat your wife (Husband) when she (he) is out of line?
Do NOT marry a FAT person?

I am asking these questions because I herd several MEN say they are Godly (faithful Christians), yet they have stressed their points about FAT women (listed above).
Please tell me where the bible says this? So that I can agree rather then disagree?

for example, I am currently in college, as are several other people...and Ialthough I am 21, I have yet to have an opportunity to learn to drive, and am unsure when or if I will. But like for instance when I die, is anyone going to look back and say "this person went to college" or "this person was/was not able to drive?" Most likely not. With that said, why do people really even do things like going to college or learning to drive? It may be that they want to get a good job, or be able to drive themselves around, but the fact is that none of this will make any difference once they are gone. Unless you are famous it is unlikely that anyone outside of your family/friends will even know that you went to college or any of that. So it is basically like we are putting ourselves through all of that stress...for what? Would it not be so much easier to just lead a simple life and not worry about doing so many stressful things like going to college that nobody will remember or even know we did?

From the King James Bible, Hebrews 1:5 implies that God would never call one of his angels "Son". Then in verse 6 it says all angels should worship Jesus. Then it contrasts angels and Jesus in verses 7 and 8. Then again in verse 13.

However, I received a Watchtower magazine from a Jehovah's Witness a few months ago that taught Jesus is Michael the Archangel.

My question is, what do Jehovah's Witnesses make of this apparent contradiction in teaching between the Watchtower magazine and the book of Hebrews?

[ Brief answers, please. I'm not looking for copy/paste from watchtower.org, but hoping to hear your personal thoughts on Hebrews chapter 1. Thanks. ]

I am writing a fantasy story and have been trying to think of various names for a fantasy tavern that will be the center of the story. I thought the Laughing Bard, but that seems lame. I like the idea of naming it after an animal too though. Any ideas anyone?

Ok I know I lost you at "pretend" but that wasn't the real question. My question is why did you put your defenses up so quickly?

Assume I was going to ask you to pretend I was God. A Christian may click this question assuming I am an atheist mocking their faith. An atheist may click thinking I am mocking their disbelief.

I already know that the question that is titling this post is no, you cannot pretend I am God. So if you cannot pretend I am God how can you pretend that God does, or does not exist? Your not right as an atheist/believer you believe you are undeniably true and right. So if both of you are stating your beliefs and both of you believe you are telling the truth, and one believes the other is wrong. I can safely come to the conclusion that both sides are completely closed off to the possibility that they may not be right.

Therefore even writing this post was a fallacy as all I am doing is making a point rather than asking a question....hhmmmm.

I think alcohol and pork are prohibited in Islam, what are some other prohibitions in Islam? Are these ever an inconvenience for Muslims? Do Islamic people always obey these rules or do they sometimes "cheat"? Is forgiveness for sin possible in Islam? And if so, how? Thanks for the information.

I have friend who is Seventh-day Adventist. He follows the dietary laws of the old testament. I feel we don;t need to. He keeps telling me I am in disobedience to God if I don't. I am getting confused. Do we need to follow the old dietary laws?..Where in the bible does it give us permission to eat pork and such.

with differing perspectives written over perhaps as much as 1000 years, why do people keep saying you have to read the whole thing to understand parts of it?

Is that just a cop out, or is there merit to it. If there's merit, then why?
