...what's the point in bringing them with you to church? Aren't the kids just a waste of the pastor's time and money?

This question was a waste of points, wasn't it? This is all you can think of?

Children are not saved before they reach the age of reason, even if they are "covenant" chilldren. They may be elect, or they may not be.

Our job as parents is to surround them with the Word of God at home and at church so that the Holy Spirit may do His work as He sees fit. Our hope is that the He cultivates our little ones' hearts and that at the proper time regenerate them and grant them the gifts of repentance and faith.

Bless you, my brother in Christ!

Those under the age of reason cannot be saved as they are not in a position to confess faith in Christ. Christians go to church when they are saved to learn the word of God and be transformed to be more like Christ. Being saved is just the beginning being Christ-like is the destination. The church's role is to make Christian to mature to be sons of God.

That is your opinion and I respect that. People bring their kids to church to teach them the Words of God, not to save their souls because as you said, they are already saved.

KJ,
Fathers are told to "bring their children up in the admonition of the LORD". It is our job to teach and train them in GOD'S WAYS. They can not learn if they are not present for our religious services as well as Bible Study at home. Have a wonderful week. Read, study, and obey HIS HOLY WORD.
Thanks,
Eds

Children learn by example. After all that's the way they learned to talk.
