Christianity is not the problem.
It is caused by some people not understanding what the teachings of their religion are.
This is a problem that is not unique to Christianity. However, in this forum there seems to be higher percentages of Christian and Atheist bullies than any other groups. This is likely because they represent the highest percentages of the people here rather than being an indictment of the groups they are found in.
As a Hellenic Pagan who is also a practicing Tarot Card reader, I have felt bullied by Christians both here and in real life. I have learned however to make a distinction between those who truly practice Christianity and those who are Pharasaical Christians

There are good and bad in all religions, any religion that claims to be the only true religion is a bully in that it believes it is better than everyone else and tries to convert others. I was once a xtian so I know this is true. You are told every Sunday how special you are and that god is the true god above the other false gods. That is why I left the church. People warp religious ideals to suit themselves. Maybe if we all took a step back, put religion aside and said OK you have a different belief. That is great, any spiritual belief is a good thing and it doesn't matter that you worship a different god to me.
I am now a pagan, I follow Asatru (Norse Reconstruction), I have Wiccan friends, Christian friends and Muslim friends. How do I have such friendships? I don't discuss religion with the christians or muslims as our beliefs don't matter in our friendship. I like them for them. I don't put religious tags on them, I did just now to prove a point. Like Shakespear said, does a rose by any other name smell as sweet?

At least on here, I dont see a whole lot of Christians "bullying" nonbelievers. But I sure see some nonbelievers antagonizing and baiting christians continully. I can refresh the main page every 10 seconds and have a new antichristian post. When I say antichristian, I mean antichristian. Not disagreement, I mean rudeness, closeminded, etc. Ill paste a couple definitions of a bully from dictionary.com and you can start comparing that definition with the christian posters, deal?
a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people.
to act the bully toward; intimidate; domineer

Bo, if you think that, you haven't lived anywhere outside the West.
And, as Christian who constantly sees the "bully" atheists trying to silence people of Christian faith, I can tell you that there is no comparison. If it were legal, I know Atheists would have all Christian kids taken from their parents and all Christians banned from any public discourse.
This is what they did in Stalinist Russia, Maoist China and what they do to many Christians in France and Germany today. Being a Christian is fine - just don't live what you believe or we'll put you in our gulag.
When was the last time anyone suggested that for you, Bo?
c'mon: you're whining.

It does seem like some of the "followers" of the Christian faith are bullies. but just like with Bin Laden and his group you cannot base your opinion of the whole on the actions of a few extremists. Not all followers of the Koran (I am sure I did not spell that right and I greatly apologize) believe that if you kill hundreds of people in the name of Allah you will go to heaven. just like not all followers of the Bible are intolerant, self-righteous pricks. There are good and bad in all religions/race/sexual preference/etc. dont let the few bullies create a dislike or hatred in you for all of them. for the most part there are alot of nice Christians. they typically just do not frequest the R&S section because they dont feel the need to preach to everyone about how they follow the devil.

Oh it's probably true in many cases, in verbal form. But who is trying to bully the world with terrorism? Doesn't that count a little more than verbal wrestling?
And why do the Atheists get off scott-free? They say that they don't even have a religion, yet they are here out of what? Boredom? The way I see it, they are only here to cause trouble. But that's only my opinion.

Why is it that people who pose these questions seem blissfully unaware of the millions who died at the hands of communsm which only has been in existance for a fragment of known history? Seems they always go to great lengths to avoid mentioning these tradjedies. God forbid they pose a question in a balanced and fair manner.

Most of the Christians I know are nice folks. I'm sure there are not so nice ones out there though, as with any other religious group.
