Husbands and wives
leave your FAT wife (Husband)?
If your wife (Husband) becomes FAT, leave her (him)?
If your wife (Husband) is in a bad mood, leave her (him)?
Beat your wife (Husband) when she (he) is out of line?
Do NOT marry a FAT person?

I am asking these questions because I herd several MEN say they are Godly (faithful Christians), yet they have stressed their points about FAT women (listed above).
Please tell me where the bible says this? So that I can agree rather then disagree?

big mamma- at first I was really angry with “L” (you know who I talking about) because she unjustly went on an anger spree and I feel in to that. BUT … the outcome of her rage lead me to you. I really like you. The more you post, the more I know about you. We’re a lot alike. I LOVE how you jump in and answer my questions, most on my friends list don’t, with the exception of one person, but he don’t count because he’s my cousin J . Thanks for making Y!A a better place for me, and others too I’m sure.

Dear me,

What the Bible says is that Husbands are to love their wives as themselves. The Bible encourages us to love our spouses and not to mistreat them as the posts you have listed above.

No where in the Bible does it tell people to leave their spouses: God declares that he hates divorce. That's why when people get married and want to obey the Bible- they do it in the site of God. They covenant to love one another - for better or worse.

Anyone who says they are a faithful Christian but espoues values that are contrary to what the Bible teaches- are fair from being a faithful Christian and in fact may not really even be Christian at all.

The only grounds for divorce in the Bible are (and this just means they have permission to Biblically but ideally if people can seek help, work things out- that is ideal).

1) If one partner cheats on the other.

2) An unbelieving spouse leaves and refuses to come back.

3) Situations of danger (ie: spousal and child abuse).

The Bible doesn't teach any of the things above- rather it teaches the opposite that men are to value and protect women-- not devalue and hurt them.

Kindly,

Nickster

Oh my this man is destroying your spirit, he is crushing little by little your soul. This man has absolutely no respect for your feeling or you what so ever. If you don't beleive in leaving him and divorcing him, go to counceling you are still young and you can still do something about it. It is not worth to live the way you are leaving, you deserve a lot more. BTW I'm 5"8 and weight 135 lbs my ex wife was 5"8 and weight 225 lbs and I loved her with all my might and she will always have a special place in my heart. Weight has nothing to do with love.

The bible says you should take care of your body because it is God's temple, but I have never read anything about leaving your spouse because they are fat. Actually divorcing for that reason is wrong, since marriage is a promise to God that you will love and be with this person until death do you part.

Well, not sure what i can say to this. Everyone changes as they get older. Some have the discipline to remain slim, and some have the blessing of a good metabolism to help them. Personally, not being George Clooney or Brad Pitt, I continue to cherish my wife and remain thankful for her love.
