Ok, so you've made your point.
To the Atheist, pretending you are God is a preposterous notion since to them, there is no god. No wonder their defenses are up. You stand for everything they disbelieve.
To Believers, the thought of pretending you are God is equally preposterous. Aside from Jesus Christ, the Living Word, no man could possible attain God's status and position, even in "pretend mode." You stand for everything that is not only impossible, but unnecessary since Jesus lives and is all that's needed.
By pretending, you are either not wanted, or not needed.
Beliefs on spirituality are so deeply held as to become part of one's own identifty. Pretending threatens us all to the core.

Dont guess an answer is really needed but hey it's 2 points.
I clicked on the question because I was going to answer that yes I could pretend you were God. The key word there is pretend. My children pretend they are all sorts of things, what's the harm??
No I am neither christian nor atheist, I am open to all possibilities and like to explore all options with an open mind. Once you choose a title you are no longer entitled to your own free opinion!
Have a great day and pretend to be God, Superman or whoever else you want to be. An imagination is a wonderful thing!!!

I don't see how asking to pretend you are god would put my fellow atheists on the defense. I never thought this question was mocking my disbelief.
Of course your conclusion comes from assuming that atheists have never thought of Christians ever being right, which is absurd. Many atheists, including myself have grown up in religious homes and are former Christians. It's not out of closed minded behavior that atheists don't take Christians seriously, it is that we have heard their arguments before, and none of them have any solid ground. Atheists don't have to prove that there isn't a god, the burden of proof lies on the person making the claim that there is a supreme being to show evidence of such.
Christians have no excuses, most (that I have known) don't even comprehend evolution, and care not to study it. Even for fundamentalists who do study it that would be for no other reason but to try to refute it, which is closed minded.

Actually you're wrong. Atheists, for the most part, don't claim the kind of absolute certainty that most Christians do. Heck, one of the chapters of _The God Delusion_ is "Why There ALMOST CERTAINLY is No God" [emphasis mine].
Most people who call themselves atheists are technically agnostic. We admit the possibility that God may exist, but regard the probability as so astronomically low as to not be worth bothering about.
Hope this helps.

why don't I just pretend you're a black cat and i'll avoid crossing your path . your fallacy is far more than you are aware of if there is no evidence of god then assuming god is not of a certain nature is using that which you want to support with the presunption of the conclusion as the source of it's proof that is totally retarded in the world of logic and definition . kind of like saying invisible faeries exist because they don't fool around from what i'm told "hearsay " not evidence . invisible not substantiated . or defining the word good as anything that is good . it says absolutely nothing .

Truth is relative only to the one who possesses it for what may be your truth will not be necessarily someone else's. In the faith of my Father, anyone HE choses can be a God on earth, but that is only in the faith he gave, NOT the religions of the WORLD who have THEIR own "God (s)"
