I think alcohol and pork are prohibited in Islam, what are some other prohibitions in Islam? Are these ever an inconvenience for Muslims? Do Islamic people always obey these rules or do they sometimes "cheat"? Is forgiveness for sin possible in Islam? And if so, how? Thanks for the information.

Dear JXT299 you have several questions here. I am trying to address all of your queries as possible for me.
There are many prohibitions in Islam, viz.:
1. In the field of food:
a. Pork
b. Animals or birds which are dead or killed without in the name of God.
c. Liquid flowing blood
d. Any addicting drug which can harm normal function of human brain.
2. In the field of personal behavior:
a. Telling lies
b. Being rude or harsh
c. Being miserly
d. Expending too much without necessity.
3. In the field of family life:
a. not caring for spouse and children.
b. Having sex without contract (contract for having sexual life is called marriage).
c. Homosexuality and lesbianism.
d. Neglecting and disobeying the parents.
4. In bussiness:
a. Cheating in any way.
4. In social life:
a. Not helping neighbors
b. Not helping poors
5. In official works:
a. Taking bribes
6. In national life:
a. Disobeying leaders
b. Becoming a leader without being elected or selected by the people.
However there are more prohibitions and tabulating all those here is not possible. If you are really interested can find those from the Quoran. Prohibibitions given for people in Islam are to make the society civilized, cultured and peaceful. Not for incovenience. Orders given (in Islam) are not for a certain race or certain region. It is for entire mankind. Whoever obeys those orders is 'Islamic' and whoever does not obey is 'not Islamic'.

Second part of your question is about forgiveness for sin in Islam. About forgiveness, God informed in the Quoran that, if people save themselves from serious crimes/sins God will not punish people for little crimes/sins.

May God give you knowledge and show the right way . I pray for you. Take care.

Hey I'm a Muslim. I'm glad you're taking an interest in Islam!

Pork and alcohol....I'm glad they're prohibited in Islam! Here is a lecture by a brilliant Muslim scholar about pork in Islam. His name is Dr. Bilal Phillips, a very knowledgeable man.

Here is another lecture by another great Muslim scholar, Dr. Zakir Naik. The topic he is speaking about is Alcoholism in Islam.

Here are some other things that are prohibited (haram) in Islam:
drugs
lying to other people
sex before marriage
sex outside marriage (fornication)
usury
smoking
eating pork
drinking alcohol/beer
bribing
cheating
stealing

Here's a website on the major forbidden things in Islam
http://www.balagh.com/english/articles/MAJOR%20FORBIDDING%20ACTS%20IN%20ISLAM.htm
(It is more detailed).

Every person will be rewarded accordingly. Muslims believe this life is a test. Everyone gets tested by Almighty God. So of course there will be temptations to do wrong things. However, Muslims seek guidance and knowledge from Almighty God. They pray to Him Alone to stay on the right path.

There are good Muslims and there are bad Muslims. There are good Christians and there are bad Christians. There are good Jews and there are bad Jews. Everyone commits sins and everyone makes mistakes!

Of course being forgiven for sins is possible in Islam! Muslims only seek forgiveness from Almighty God (Allah). We believe Almighty God is the Most Merciful, the Most Forgiving, the Nicest. Muslims do not pray to anyone else besides Almighty God.

I appreciate your questions about Islam. It makes me have a stronger faith. The more people ask the questions, the better I get at answering them. So thank you for your questions and I hope I was able to help you.

Thank you for your time.

Pre-Marital sex, adultery, cheating, stealing, murdering, doing drugs, gambling, bribing, suicide, etc.

No, Muslims break these rules all the time, because they don't have enough trust and faith in God.

For me, no inconveniences at all. I live a very happy and fulfilling life. (Thank God.)

All sins are forgivable except Shirk (Associating any entity with God.)

You're welcome.... Have a nice day.
