I have to translate an english paragraph to french. (yes it's homework), but I tried already. lol. This is what I have so far. Please excuse the fact that I don't have accent marks. I can't make it on my computer. Can you fix the mistakes? And, help me translate the parts I don't know? MERCI BEAUCOUP... =)

so... yup. CAN YOU CHECK IT? ^_^. This is all just a review for me, but summer ruined my french! lol. THANKS!!!!

I was raised Catholic. I practice New Orleans Voodoo - which puts a lot of emphasis on the Catholic Saints.

Some say that practicing the way I do is a form of Idolatry.

However, if you aren't supposed to ask the saints for help, what are their purpose?

In Voodoo, you pray to the saint that can best help you out with your specific problem. That is why we have patron saints, right? Why is it idolatry if done in the context of New Orleans Voodoo, but not in the Catholic church?

If there are any Mormons here, why do Mormons (Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Days Saints) keep so clean? I wish main stream Christianity would be a bit more like the Mormons.

I hate being like this. I dont know what to do. I think it might be best if I just lie and pretend to be a different person.
I dont want to be gay, i want to be straight.
I was so comfortable with my being gay until this year or so and I dont know what to do. Every day I feel like I die a little.
I dont want to lie and pretend to become straight, but Im left no other option. Its what Ive been doing and my friends are angry at me. They want me to stop confusing them. But I have to confuse them and go in and out of the closet because of...complicated religious convictions. My heart is divided. I want to choose god, but....my heart is breaking when I see other gay guys dating, and kissing, and I see shows like will and grace. Im so lonely right now..I need help. What do I do?

London, Germany, Albania...These are real places. This is a fact.

The first book warned of an approaching war, a Chosen One was prophesied. This all came true in the seventh book.

The lessons of courage, friendship, and love resonate in our daily lives.

The author explains how many people have witnessed this magic. There are story about magic from nearly every culture.

Yet you still doubt it? Why?

Okay this guy first of all does not work. He smokes like crazy and our doors face together and I get all the smell that has become a permanent stench in our home. My boyfriend has allergies and can't handle it when the smell comes through.
But that isn't really the worse part. The annoying guy knocks on our door ALL the time. When he first moved in, he started to come to our home to borrow the microwave until my boyfriend gave him the hint several time to buy his own. Now he has been borrowing the cheese grater- several times too. Yes the freakin' cheese grater! And it's been over a week since I last saw my cheese grater. Last night he knocked on my door to ask us if we would like some pasta. I said okay to be polite. And he said it was in the works and he would bring it by when it was done. Big whoop- there was never any pasta.
So my question is how the heck do the get my cheese grater back and get this guy to stop knocking our door just to bother us? Please be civil.

History has shown that those who first spread their religion though love, will spread it by the sword when they have the power to do so.

When a group teaches its way is better than anyone elses way they are going to imply that everyone else is inferior.

And when that happens people can rationalize doing terrible things.

My daughter had to pick colleges. As the "all knowing parent", I already knew she would she would want to choose a college away from home and in a big city (we live in a small town in the South). Now it was NOT my personal preference for her but I told her, she was free to choose.

It's not my giving her the freedom to chose itself that makes it free will. It's FREE will because I NEVER laid a guilt trip or promise a reward for choosing my preferred college. Nor did I threaten punishment if she didn't choose my preferred college.

According to the Oxford Dictionary; Free will is not only freedom from inevitable fate but the ability to choose without necessity or constraint. If a choice is coerced or bribed it is NOT freewill. I didn't like my daughter's choice but I know her respect and love for me grew because I let her choose freely. She never expected or feared a repercussion from me.

Do you think this is the correct definition of free will? If not, why not?

For instance a plane crash. "Thank God I wasn't on that flight".
Of course 150 other people died.

Or you drive home, see smoke, pull into your block and see it's your neighbors house burning to the ground. Do you say "Thank God it wasn't my house".

Doesn't that mean you wish and pray that the worse things to happen, if thay are to, to other people. Doesn't that make you selfish? Ashamed?

I have four years in with my current employer. I am senior with the benefits of being senior. It is a road job. I travel 95% of the year and I have four children under 15. I could match my income from home by taking two jobs even McDonald's and Pizza Delivery but that would destroy my career and it would, I fear hurt my family in the long run.

I love the job. I love what I do. I hate being away from the family.

Right now I daily pray for something that will allow me to work one job and be at home and I apply around and wait.

Exodus

21:20 And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

21:21 Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.

So according to the bible it's okay with God if you slowly beat your slaves. After all, they are your money. Just make sure that they survive at least a day or two after the beating.

Then isn't it then ironic that MLK Jr. was able to gain momentum as a Christian preaching for civil rights and equality in the post slavery era.

This seems to show how society determines its own morals of the times relatively independent of the bible, which is claimed to be a book which is inerrant and perfect.

Isn't this proof the bible was not really divinely created and simply written by humans during a time when barbaric practices were acceptable, and therefore its not the true word of god?

2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Why do religions spend so much time pointing fingers at others, and telling others what sinners/bad people they are...doesn't this passage tell us specifically, not to judge other religions?

Your thoughts?
