Harry Potter is a fictional character. He may be a form of truth to many people that have witnessed True Magic or a True Miracle. I too, find the stories very uplifting and learned a lot about friendship and relationships from J K Rowling. She is a wonderful writer that brought her stories to life!

Harry Potter is a fictional character, the story is fictional, whilst it uses real places for some of its settings, it is nothing more than a story.
A good story draws on aspects of reality, and a good fantasy story successfully blends these aspects of reality with fantasy. But there is a reason the story is sold in the fiction section, and that's because the story isn't true, it hasn't really happened.

Not to mention that Hogwarts castle is being moved to the U.S. (as part of Universal Studios Theme Park in Florida) and that Harry Potter will be just as real as Kent Hovind's "Dinosaurs lived with man" Bible-inspired stories (which he built a theme park for).

I still doubt Harry's existance though (as there is no real proof. Get me a magic wand and prove he is real) however, I respect your right to believe and hope that you don't push your beliefs on me by stocking my public schools libraries with your nonsense books.

It was written and published as a work of fiction. If the same stories appeared in the British historical archive as works of history, people probably would believe it. And scholars would analyze it, try to identify the motives and intentions of the author, and determine how much was true and how much was not, etc.

Someone needs to prove the non-existance of Harry Potter!!!

To the people calling the poster stupid, this is a very clever argument.

I bet that if you ran the Harry Potter series thru those bible code programs, you would find just as many hits as you would with a bible, too.

The author claims that this is a work of fiction. I have no reasons to disagree with her. If she claimed, that harry potter is real, i would consider it.

I don't think JK Rowling believes it. She was merely writing a series of fun books that entertain people.

Love the movies too. *bless* SJ

Harry Potter only had Voldemort to worry about. His counterpart, Daniel Radcliffe, has to worry about getting an erection on stage every performance.
