I always notice around this time, that stores start selling “Fun size” candy bars for Halloween ; you know, the lil nugget size Three Musketeers, Snickers…and Mars bars...

what I’M wondering is what unit of measurement are these marketing gurus going by?

How did they determine that a mini twix bar, or a mini milky way bar—was no longer “mini” but -- “Fun!” Is "fun" like some unit of measurement they taught at school, cuz I must have totally missed that lecture?

This is the Mormonism I love...

Joseph Smith said, "You have got to learn how to be Gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests to God, the same as all Gods have done before you, namely, by going from one small degree to another, and from a small capacity to a great one; from grace to grace from exaltation to exaltation, until you attain to the resurrection of the dead, and are able to dwell in everlasting burnings and to sit in glory, as do those who sit enthroned in everlasting power... Intelligent beings are organized to become Gods, even the Sons of God, to dwell in the presence of the Gods, and become associated with the highest intelligences that dwell in eternity. We are now in the school, and must practice upon what we receive."

Orthodoxy and Catholicism is greatly corrupted by editing, Nicea Assembly, other councils, and reformers. Why try to be like them? And why don't you accept the Thomas Gospel, its not like it contains things that isn't in Mormonism. Or do you?

I really dont need the non-biblical responses...I know that anything goes in the "worldly" view.

My husband has a very strong fear of being lied to so he always wants us to be totally honest with each other. NO problem for me. The problem is he is asking me to tell him, in detail about all the people I slept with before him. Now TELLING him is not the issue..Im not ashamed of it..but he's asking me to give him detail; like explicit..positions and how many times and what did I say and how loud and how long...stuff that requires that I DWELL on SIN..basically reliving it and committing ADULTERY in my mind by resurrecting lust that I turned away from long ago. My husbands says it will help to quelll his fears, knowing Id be that honest. I believe it goes against God's Word and it open up doors to sin (spiritually). *This wont make sense if you are not a bible believing person so dont bother responding if you dont understand that sin leads to death. Is it biblical what he's asking for?

Is that how God wanted you to be? Judgemental? Put others down? Threaten them to be deemed to hell? Is that a good christian? And why would God say all the rest of the religions do not count? Does it make sense that all other people that arent christians will be in hell? What about those that do not love their brothers and judge them?

I was posting in the Astronomy Forum last night trying to 'enlighten' the people there that had fallen for the Mars hoax, and this is one of the responses that I received. Mind you I made no mention of religion what-so-ever.

simbaholic: You are such a doubter and probably think I have no brain at all for saying that. I am smart enough to know that God might do that and he might prevent the whole tide thing. He stopped time once, but of course you don't believe that.
Wait till the Rapture!

Let us not waste our time in idle discourse! Let us do something, while we have the chance! It is not every day that we are needed. Not indeed that we personally are needed. Others would meet the case equally well, if not better. To all mankind they were addressed, those cries for help still ringing in our ears! But at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late! Let us represent worthily for once the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us! What do you say?

And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come.

This was a quote by one of my evolutionist friends when asked about life existing on elsewhere in the universe....:

"There are few absolutes, simple answers, clear conclusions in life, and this is certainly not one of them. Since we don't know what is out there, it would be unreasonable to state declaratively that something isn't there."

Please tell me your thoughts.....

Are there people out there who are really "Dominionist" Christians, who seek to gain influence over the government in the USA? Or is this a bogey man made up by the media?

Is there anyone here who is "dominionist" or knows someone who is? Can you describe it to me without being rude?

Hello. I am interested in and am doing research on Icelandic youth, street and college slang for a project I'm working on. :D

I'd like to know what are Icelandic slang terms and expressions for:

"cool girl"- a girl that's likable, suave, popular, and calm under pressure.

Or a girl that's hip, trendy and/or fashionable.

The female equivalent of a "toeffari".

Please let me know and please list as many slang terms and expressions as possible. Thank you. :D

I think a death row inmate who becomes religious AFTER they committed the crime (knowing full well what they were doing) should be moved up on the list! Prisoners who find religion to try for early release should be moved to death row! I have seen the stats for these scumballs who get out and repeat their crimes. I have also seen the stats for how many of them were members of one religion or another to begin with. It is a ploy to get leniency that is not deserved. Fry them all! Your thoughts?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been on R/S since I became a member here and I answered many questions as an atheist,
For some personal reasons I've decided to leave this forum (and politics as well) and hang around in other forums from now on,
of course, you can always find me in other forums: music, sport, food/drink, health...
Thank you guys,
I respect you all: the Christians and Muslims and atheists…
Good luck,
