I always notice around this time, that stores start selling “Fun size” candy bars for Halloween ; you know, the lil nugget size Three Musketeers, Snickers…and Mars bars...

what I’M wondering is what unit of measurement are these marketing gurus going by?

How did they determine that a mini twix bar, or a mini milky way bar—was no longer “mini” but -- “Fun!” Is "fun" like some unit of measurement they taught at school, cuz I must have totally missed that lecture?

Fun! size= its fun for the company -they sell you this little piece of candy that probably costs $.0425 to make. they sell it in big bags(25 pieces?- 25*.0425=?) for like $4 a bag.

Fun-size means that the normal, non-Kobayashi person could eat the entire piece of candy in one to two bites. I was never great with the Metric system but lucky for us fun-size was never part of it. Also, mini is always smaller than fun. Figure two-three minis equals one fun. Absurd, isn't it?

I must have missed it as well. I guess they're going by some sort of idea of what a young child might eat for a single serving. Beyond that, I imagine they're also looking to maximize profit by selling as small a candy bar as possible for as big a price as possible.

What - me?? A cynic??? Surely you jest!!! ;-)

It's the right size to sneak into the movie theater without them noticing. That's fun!

Well, I imagine it may be fun for some kids that chuck em' at people - other than that I think they are simply trying to brain wash people into buying them simply because they appear to be "fun".

I wonder if Trojans will be utilizing that word on THEIR product anytime soon..? That's a knee slapper!

They call it that because u can have "fun" with ur candy like throwing it the air and catching it with ur mouth, things like that.

Fun size = As much as you can fit in your hand or your mouth.

Oh, wait ...you were talking about candy.

I'm thinking if you can pop it in your mouth without breaking the candy, it's fun!

If you can't cram it your mouth in one shot, it is just "mini".

Fun as in.. "have fun peeling off all those wrappers" cause you have to eat like 10 of them to get your chocolate fix!

i always thought "fun size" was the biggest size, not the smallest. i don't know what the companies are thinking.
