Let us not waste our time in idle discourse! Let us do something, while we have the chance! It is not every day that we are needed. Not indeed that we personally are needed. Others would meet the case equally well, if not better. To all mankind they were addressed, those cries for help still ringing in our ears! But at this place, at this moment of time, all mankind is us, whether we like it or not. Let us make the most of it, before it is too late! Let us represent worthily for once the foul brood to which a cruel fate consigned us! What do you say?

And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come.

To Jesussavation I say, "Woo Hoo! Atta girl!" Awesome! You were the first to get it.

Sherl, that was hysterical. I'm thrilled you looked it up too. I should have stated a source but I thought it would be much more fun not to. I am surprised that some of the "non-believers" are actually responding to me as if Godot is an actual entity. This is where I always want to say "Yes, but did you READ it?" LOL. Happens across the R&S board.

Rachel, you rock, but then what else is new?

Tigger - May I just say that I really like YOU? (((Tig)))

Grendel, I thought the question was clear. Shall we go?

Yes, let's go.

Rach - AND you quote Whitman? Are you perfect? I'm considering proposing, hope you don't find that a bit stalker-ish. ;-)

Indeed,we shall go.Today we live,tomorrow we die.

You,do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.
You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. James 4:14

Let's touch as many as we can, while we are here

The night is far spent, and the day is near; let us cast away therefore the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

I am indeed waiting for God,to come....How's that for a different twist?

"To all mankind they were addressed, those cries for help still ringing in our ears!"

Those cries for help from rooftops and attics, with flood water rising all around... 2 years ago tomorrow... We are waiting...

Last year, a theater group took "Waiting For Godot" and played it as if on a rooftop in New Orleans, surrounded by water. It was surreal.

*somebody* once put a nametag that said 'Godot' in the unreliable elevator in a building I once worked in. Was always waiting for Godot.

Shall we go? Well.....

I have gone out, a possessed witch
haunting the black air, braver at night

Dreaming evil, I have done my pitch
over the plain houses, light by light

Lonely thing, twelve fingered,
out of mind

A woman like that,
is not a woman quite

I have been her kind

After you have exhausted what there is in business, politics, conviviality, and so on - have found that none of these finally satisfy, or permanently wear - what remains? Nature remains.
