Relative. Absolutely.

Einstein's Theory of Relativity explains that time is not a fixed constant. Time varies in extreme circumstances. For example, if your speed approaches the speed of light, time will slow down for you. Experiments have been done and they have shown this to be true.

There's a relatively simple explanation at Muppet Labs and a very good and very deep explanation with all sorts of videos and simulations at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications.

Time is relative to what ever space-time it is measured from. If a spaceship traveled near the speed of light they may return thousands of years later but to them only a few days have gone by.

It depends if you're working with Newtonian or Einsteinian physics, and if its homework I'm guessing Newtonian.

However, the (Einsteinian) answer is that there is no such thing as time. There is no such thing as space.

_Spacetime_ (one entity) is relative (and curved!).

Seriously, time is not absolute, and does not exist on its own. Anyone saying otherwise doesn't understand physics, and shouldn't be answering questions about physics (which shouldn't be asked in the Religion & Spirituality section).

well time is relative, but i wont tell you why since it is your homework, not mine. BTW has anyone ever told you it does you no good to have someone else do your homework, its like sending someone to the gym for you to workout, and then trying to test your muscles at the pace they were working out at.IOW it wont work, your mind is a muscle, exercise it yourself, no one else can do that for you.

Relative. Time slows down when you reach the speed of light.

Einstein's calculations clearly show it is relative. Many of those things have been experimentally shown correct. It even has to be corrected for on the computers in space missions.

Time is relative in the human mind, it is absolute outside of the mind.
What does this have to do with Religion and Spirituality?

Time definitely was slower when I was young. Unfortunately time moves faster the older I get.

My relatives -- time is absolute 4:00pm = 4:00pm

My Wife's relatives -- time is relative. 4:00pm = 6:37pm
