Atheists are frequently accused of being exceptionally prideful. I'm inclined to think of myself as being humble in accepting that which is obviously true as my only choice of reality.

Assuming that the Catholic Church was always so ritualized the way it is today i.e. candles, incense, one way to do mass etc. When did the protestants stop doing stuff like that and why?

Catholicism has gotten quite the bad reputation because of a large number of Priests -- though they are statistically quite rare -- that have been found to be pedophiles.

Common belief (which is quite unfounded, of course) is that this problem is because of the Catholic sect itself. I believe that manner of thinking is backwards.

My thinking is that these men actually joined the priesthood because they already had these compulsions and were repulsed by them. Becoming a Catholic Priest was their attempt to escape their desires, but, for whatever reason, were not able to.

What are your thoughts?

Do americans not do this? Ive seen a couple of things where they cringe at drinking straight from the tap. i practically live off tap water.
is it not safe to drink there? where else do you get water from? buying bottled water must cost a fortune.
i normally just turn the tap on and drink from the stream of water if i cant find a cup. would you not normally do that?

I have heard you refer to the book of mormon as another gospel of Jesus Christ in your commercials. As I understand it Moroni, an angel, appeared to Joseph Smith and led him to the golden plates. The Bible in Galatians seems to warn against this. What is your response?

Gal 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

all I hear is '' because the bible says it's right or wrong'' or this passage on this chapter says this. do you honestly think that just by saying '' jesus you died for me'' going to church every sunday and giving %10 of your paycheck to a profit motive churches you're going to go straight to heaven? I don't think so. there's more to it than that. God doesn't prefer christians over muslims or pagans

i told everyone i was gay.that i was inlove with a lass at work and we was going to live together.
i told my bloke and left him everything in our apartment.
my mother told me she wishes i was dead and that she will never have grand kids now.

If you were going to write a book about your life, philosophy, experiences, knowledge or the history of your generation, what would it be called?

I would have to wrestle with several titles. "Warrior Woman" might be one. "Forgotten but Never Lost" (?) "I'm Confused This Must be China" (?) "Exit Laughing" (?)

I have to really think about ONE that really sums it up for me.

The Earth's population is about 6.5 billion people. The Earth is only about 24,900 miles. The Milky Way is about 100,000 light years. The Void that was found recently is about 1 billion light years across which is about 6 billion trillion miles. Just think how big the Universe is in it's entirety, and you think God is talking to you? The God of the Bible is nothing compared to what is really out there.

but why do some women like to use the husband's whole name - like a woman married to a guy called Edward Arnold calling herself Mrs. Edward Arnold as though she has no identity of her own. It seems weird to me.

They've been to my house one time. I now see them in the neighborhood often and they don't come to my door anymore. They go to everyone else's door. I'm glad that they don't come to my house but I guess I just want to know why.
