A. THE FORMATION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT CANON (A.D. 100-220)
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03274a.htm
The idea of a complete and clear-cut canon of the New Testament existing from the beginning, that is from Apostolic times, has no foundation in history. The Canon of the New Testament, like that of the Old, is the result of a development, of a process at once stimulated by disputes with doubters, both within and without the Church, and retarded by certain obscurities and natural hesitations, and which did not reach its final term until the dogmatic definition of the Tridentine Council. ("Canon of the New Testament")
There is a lot of confusion about the earliest existing texts of the Bible. The oldest extant manuscript of the Bible is believed to be the Codex Vaticanus, (preserved in the Vatican Library), which is slightly older than the Codex Sinaiticus (preserved in the British Library), both of which were transcribed in the fourth century.

I find it extremely saddening that you can not see the sanctity and beauty of the world in which you live. Is it not better to focus on living well in this world, and improving the lives of those around you, than focusing on this eschatological outlook? There are many problems that are not being addressed, such as the threat of global warming.

I believe that these are only the last days if Christians succeed in making them so. You are so focused on the next that this world is neglected. There are things that need to be done NOW in order to preserve this world. If you are wrong (and there is always that possibility no matter how sure you feel) then your children and grandchildren will be the ones who will suffer.

To me, it seems that your sentiment is that: "It doesn't matter what happens to this world as I'm going to heaven", or: "The quicker this world is destroyed then the quicker judgement day will come and I'll have my perfect life". These sentiments do not reflect well on you.

Hell beckons, and the fresh new handbasket is out of its seal, tested by genuine Wiccan wickerworkers, in the hellish climate of Mexico.
Made with new improved sentient wicker that repels malignant spirits and promotes good fun.

Is it really that time again?

Is my basket really alive? And does it have its own magical field?

Will the bran muffins be affected by this?

Yes ladies and gents. Leaving right now (in the time distortion field, now is any time you happen to appear, even if it's different from everyone else), it's the much-anticipated:

Hell in a Handbasket tour

Don't bring anything, as thoughts will materialise. If you think you need sunblock, you got it.

Can I have a roll-call of who's aboard?

God allows slavery:
Leviticus 25:44-46: "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life"

Exodus 21:1 "If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

OK to beat slaves:
Exodus 21:20-21 "And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money [property]."

Slaves must be circumcised:
Genesis 17:13: "He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant."

I love going barefoot but there are some times when you have to wear shoes, like going to restaurants and so on. What do I do if I want to be barefoot but I know that during the day I will need shoes sometimes? What do others who go barefoot do?

A guy (father of 4) who goes to my gym does not work because of a bad back yet he runs 10 miles on the treadmill daily, he claims benefits and has done for 10 years, he is only 42.

There are many people who live on benefits who are able to work (this does not include people with a disability or a genuine reason for not being able to work), this is purely the lazy scroungers we all pay for. Why do they choose to live on handouts and what should we do with them?

Here is my reference....
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1COR%206:9;&version=50;

1 Corinthians 6:9 (New King James Version)
Copyright © 1982 by Thomas Nelson, Inc.

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,[a] nor sodomites,

Footnotes:
[a] 1 Corinthians 6:9 That is, catamites

Now.... "what's a catomite" I thought ... and.... well as far as I can figure a Catomite is word with latin origins that means the younger partner in a pederastic relationship between two males. Now this strikes a particular discord with me ... That is, a Catomite refers exclusively to an act of pedophilia ... but more interestingly Paul condemns not the adult perpetrator in this text ... but the adolescent little boy!

So, if you can make sense of that morality then please explain it to me 'cause I need to know.

In the last three weeks I have ordered two lots of books and one lot of CDs via the Internet. In each case I wanted one book, or one CD in particular but ordered a few more items that I thought might be of interest. The three lots of items have now arrived, minus the books and CD that I wanted the most - each one temporarily out of stock and to be posted later. The two books are by the same author and the CD features the voice of the same man - all Stephen Fry. The other books and CDs are from a variety of artists and authors. Coincidence, or is the universe sending me a message that Sephen Fry doesn't want anything to do with me?

I realize this sounds like a hate question.

But, what do you think should be done to help homosexuals recieve equal right. The gay pride parades I have been to have only been a way for homosexuals to celebrate being gay there have also been religious people that decided it would be a great day to go explain to homosexuals their version of normal. I think that if homosexuals want to recieve equal rights that they need to have their version of when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus. What is your opinion of how homosexuals can begin to be accepted and not be discriminated against?
